Hot
Topic Fall Out |
punkbands reports: Fall Out Boy's new cd,
Infinity On High, will not be carried at any Hot Topic locations and the
"listening party" the company had scheduled for Feb. 3rd has been cancelled.
FOB`s response is as follows: In regards to the situation with Hot Topic,
there was an issue with them and our record distributor. HT unfortunately
will not be carrying our record on release day. We are very upset about
this. Hot Topic has been our partner since "Take This to Your Grave".
We support our friends at HT and their
decision to not stock the record for the time being even though this is
a very disappointing situation for us and our fans who shop at Hot Topic.

Gay's
Wild Escape |
NYTimes reports: It has all the makings of
a country song: an escaped prisoner, his terminally ill mother, a Wal-Mart
truck, Nascar and a Nashville singer's tour bus.
Christopher D. Gay, 32, escaped from a
prisoner transport van last Sunday in South Carolina, the police say, and
evaded a five-state manhunt by stealing a pickup, a big rig and a bus that
belongs to the singer Crystal Gayle before being arrested on Friday in
Florida.[see full story for more of this wild story]-

Cephalic
Carnage Recording |
Relapse reports: Cephalic Carnage have entered
the studio to record their as-yet-untitled new full-length album, the follow-up
to 2005's stellar Anomalies in the band's own studio with long time producer/engineer
Dave Otero.
Cephalic's Zac Joe recently gave this update:
"We've started work on our 5th studio album and even though Colorado was
hit with three of the worst blizzards in its history, which brought everything
to a stand still, John has completed the drum tracks and we are neck deep
into the guitars. I can say without a doubt say that John has pushed himself
harder and out-performed anything I've ever heard from him, and that's
saying a lot. As for the rest of the music, it gives me that excited naughty
little feeling in the pit of my stomach that can only be compared to the
first time you make out with your best friends girl." The band will have
the recording wrapped up by early Spring for a May 2007 release.-

Ligion MP3 |
PR reports: As Ligion prepares to release
their debut album External Affairs (Maple Jam Records/Bellum Records) on
March 20th, they have made a FREE MP3 of the first single "On The Way"
available. [see full story link] Rock & roll triumphs are rare. But
by nicking choice elements from the genre's checkered past and fusing it
with raw power and sexual energy, Ligion's invigorating Maple Jam/Bellum
Records debut is just that. Spitting out a vital, dexterous eleven-song
cycle that runs the gamut from infectious, rock radio gems to pensive,
Zippo lighter-ready epics, Ligion has the potential to gather the masses.
Crafted with the help of veteran rock producer Greg Ladanyi, this Nashville-based
five piece fills a void as it resets expectations of what a modern rock
album can be with 2007's fiery entry External Affairs.-

Pendragon
- The History: 1984-2000 |
Pendragon's latest release,
The History: 1984-2000, is similar to Soundgarden's last output A-Sides
in the fact that it's not a best-of, but an anthology of what may be considered
by fans and/or critics as the best tracks from each of their respective
albums.- Read

Suffer
the Silence - Sorrow for a Doomed Nation |
"Dear and Dead" will please
not only earlier fans of the band but also those who remember their collective
stint in an earlier death metal band known as Triton. The song is battering
