New Voice of Candlemass |
SMN reports: CANDLEMASS have posted the following
update: "After months of auditions it is now official who replaces Messiah
Marcolin in CANDLEMASS. Robert Lowe, well known for his work with SOLITUDA
AETURNUS, is the man who killed all the competition and showed that he
beyond doubt is the most capable man for the job. A worthy successor!!
Robert will still be fronting SA, but since
there's a whole ocean between the bands, we/CANDLEMASS, feel that this
is a great solution that is very beneficial for everybody.[see full story

metallers DECREPIT BIRTH have posted the following update:
"DECREPIT BIRTH is officially looking for
a second guitarist who is ready for touring and playing shows. We are looking

roots in brutal death metal, but we are really incorporating a more melodic
and mature sound into the band, so don't expect to join the band and only

Jodi
Jett Soph |
PR reports: Alt-country performer and songwriter
Jodi Jett will be releasing her second record later this year. Jett has
already recorded two songs that she plans to release as singles this Spring.
The record will be co-produced and mixed by Phil Palazzolo (Neko Case,
The New Pornographers, Radio 4) and mastered by Tom Hutten for Bionic Mastering.
"I'm not taking myself so seriously with
this album, says Jett. I've been listening to a lot of Magnetic Fields
and Tom Waits, so I expect those influences to be noticeable on the record.
Magnetic Fields especially inspire lots of obnoxious silliness with songs
like the first single Pocket Rocket. As with her debut album Revelations,
Jett will also independently release her second record. Further specifics
will be announced at a later date.

Gets Some American Pie |
TMZ reports: If Tara Reid wants to shake her
party girl image, she should probably reconsider performing simulated sex
with rappers onstage.
TMZ obtained exclusive footage from Sundance
of Tara, moments after she climbed onstage at the Blender Sessions party
at Tao nightclub, while Akon performed his hit song, "Smack That." And
for this performance, the "that" was Tara Reid.
Tara mounted then gyrated on Akon as he
pretended to pump her all around the stage. One of his mohawked band members
decided to get in on the action, and the two bounced Tara around between
them. [see full story for more]- Click

Thrice |
PR reports: Today is the day that Thrice lead
singer, Dustin Kensrue releases his debut solo album entitled "Please Come
Home" via Equal Vision Records. If you are expecting anything along the
lines of Thrice, you will be sorely mistaken. Is that such a bad thing
though? Certainly not! Please Come Home is 8 tracks of stripped-down rock,
that is more like folk/country than anything else. Helping him out on the
recordings is fellow Thrice band member Teppei Teranishi and their guitar
tech Chris Jones. Don't let this record slip past you, it will definatley
be in your Best of 2007 list.[see full story for some tour dates]-
