Lesbian
Coming |
PR reports: Lesbian Comes Out This Spring...
Er, That is, Lesbian the Band Releases Debut Album, Tours the U.S. Yep,
the band's name is Lesbian. Why would an all-male heavy-rock quartet from
Seattle call itself Lesbian? Well, equally-cool names like Black Sabbath,
Venom and Pentagram were already taken. But also, the name Lesbian evokes
pure, sexually-charged freedom -- and, that's what rock music is all about.
But, enough about the name, let's talk
about the Lesbian sound...it's leaden, melodic, dramatic and dynamic. The
group's multifaceted debut album Power Hör on Holy Mountain (Om, Six
Organs of Admittance) is considered the birth of the New Wave of American
Psychedelic Metal. Each of the four-song, 61-minute album's tracks flowingly
shifts moods, dynamics and styles.[The press release was so busy going
on about the silly name that they forgot to give a release date or even
tour dates or we could provide them. - see full story for more on their
sound]- Click

What
to Expect from McPhee |
PR reports: "Ever since I was on the finale
of 'American Idol,' people have been asking me what kind of album I'm going
to record," says Katharine McPhee. "When I started working on my debut
album, I was asked what types of music I liked. My favorite music is rhythmic
pop and I love to dance, so that was our starting point. I was also asked
what I wanted to sing about, what subjects I wanted to touch on. So this
album really reflects me, a 22-year-old girl who knows what it's like to
fall in love and to have her heart broken, and also a girl who likes to
have fun and enjoy life!"
The results will be heard on Jan. 30, when
Katharine's self-titled album debut is released on RCA Records/19 Recordings.
The first single, "Over It," impacted radio on Jan. 15.[see full story

Britney
Snubbed |
pr-inside reports: [and here is today's BS
report] The 'Toxic' singer was due to attend the glitzy and elegant Vienna
Opera Ball but has now been removed from the guest list due to her falling
out with the hotel heiress.
Paris, 25, is the guest of wealthy industrialist
Richard Lugner and his wife Christina who in the past have invited high
profile stars in an attempt to modernise the very traditional dance - a
highlight of Austria's social calendar.
Richard Lugner said: "Paris is a very good
advertisement for the Opera Ball." When asked why Britney will no longer
be attending, Christina Lugner said: "They unfortunately do not get along
anymore."[see full story for more]- Click

Nash - Remix Project |
"Along the Wall" weaves Nash's
delicate and breathy vocals into an enjoyable mind blend techno music,
but the rest of the cd is pretty much void of inspiration or creativity
and takes away from the original cuts.- Read

Mahavatar
- From the Sun, The Rain, The Wind, and The Soil |
While all of the songs have
clear underpinnings of metal, they all seem to come at it from different
angles. Perhaps the most impressive thing about the CD then is that they
manage to keep the disc cohesive. - Read
