Kaiser
Chiefs Preview |
Filter reports: Avoiding the sophomore slump
and following up a storming album like Employment was never going to be
easy, but the Kaiser Chiefs have pulled it off with style! Yours Truly,
Angry Mob sounds confident, assured and almost effortless; our boys have
grown up. After road-testing the new material on the festival circuit,
the Kaiser Chiefs buckled down with Smiths producer Stephen Street to capture
the band's evolved sound.
While we wait with baited breath until
the album is released on March 27th, here's lead single "Ruby," offering
a hit of XTC, with a side of power pop. It's the difference between downing
a shot and sipping on a cocktail, it's Morrissey fronting Cheap Trick,
it's already your favorite song. Check it out at the full story link. -

Timberlake,
Diaz officially Over |
TMZ reports: [If you're part of the 1% of
society that actually cares about this, here is the devastating news] Justin
Timberlake and Cameron Diaz have finally confirmed the rumors of their
breakup. Brace yourselves.
The former couple issued a joint statement
on Thursday saying, "It has always been our preference not to comment on
the status of our relationship, but, out of respect for the time we've
spent together, we feel compelled to do so now, in light of recent speculation
and the number of inaccurate stories that are being reported by the media.
We have, in fact, ended our romantic relationship and have done so mutually
and as friends, with continued love and respect for one another."-

Daughters
Of Mara Preview |
Virgin reports: Daughters Of Mara will enter
the studio in April to begin recording their debut album with producer
GGGarth Richardson (Mudvayne, Rage Against The Machine). The as-yet untitled
effort will be released late summer/early fall on Virgin Records. Los Angeles-based
Daughters Of Mara are determined to give us something new. Tired of canned
lyrics, false emotion and the "Hollywood fashion show", Daughters Of Mara
give us an unfiltered look at life being broken, fixed and broken again.
Their music is honest and unclouded. One moment is incredibly violent.
The next is eerily subdued. Punishing guitar riffs are blanketed by soaring
vocal harmonies, and drums swing wildly between blast-beats and whispers.
D.O.M.'s lyrics are forward and unflinching, and they paint a vivid picture
of the struggles we all live with everyday. This honesty is a breath of
fresh air in a world full of lies, and their knack for breeding aggression
with beauty is the perfect vessel for its delivery. Daughters Of Mara have
made available a free 3-song demo on their Myspace - see full story for
that.- Click
