50 Cent Condoms
Gigwise reports: He's already launched his own clothing line, books and mineral water, now 50 Cent is branching out to condoms.

The rapper believes that his line of condoms is a fresh incentive to encourage youngsters to take part in safe sex. [fresh? Didn't KISS already do this?] "We have to be a little more creative about it. It's the same with safe sex. As opposed to being part of a safe-sex campaign, I'm going to make condoms and donate a part of the proceeds to HIV awareness." [ok, well KISS wouldn't do that - see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Britney Can't Dress
hecklerspray.com reports: There isn't a January that goes by where we don't wish we were Mr Blackwell; he's basically Santa Claus, but instead of coming out once a year to deliver presents Mr Blackwell pops up every January to complain about the clothes that Britney Spears wears.

In honesty, Mr Blackwell doesn't complain as such when he's making his Worst-Dressed list - for 47 years he's fired out round after round of machine-gunning rhyming alliterative sentences that make readers say "Ooh, that bitch" and "Wow, is Mr Blackwell still alive?" in equal measure. The main focus of hatred on Mr Blackwell's 47th Worst-Dressed list is the same as in his 46th - Britney Spears, although this time she's brought Paris Hilton along for company. You want to hear what kind of catty, Sex And The City-style barbs the elderly Mr Blackwell has got ready for Britney and Paris? You'd better read on, then.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Roth on Rock Hall Induction
blabbermouth.net reports: Launch Radio Networks reports: The normally outrageous David Lee Roth is staying decidedly low-key regarding this week's announcement that VAN HALEN will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Instead of some classic "Diamond Dave" quotes, Roth has issued a very simple statement that reads, "It is an honor and a privilege to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

VH1 Won't Rock The Hall
BW&BK reports: VH1 will not carry the annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction gala this year, and a Hall spokeswoman says the organization is still deciding what course of television action to take.

VH1 has taped the show for the past several years and telecast an edited-down version a few nights later. That system was a balancing act: The Hall wanted attention and promotion, but didn't want to turn the annual Waldorf-Astoria Hotel dinner, which this year will be March 12th, into purely a TV event. Who Needs a Label?
BBC reports: Essex rock band Koopa could become the first unsigned group to land a UK top 40 hit thanks to new chart rules.

Their download-only single Blag, Steal & Borrow is on course to enter Sunday's top 40, early sales figures suggest. Chart rules were changed at the start of January to count all digital single sales, even if there is no CD version. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Nevermore Kidney Transplant
KNAC reports: Following successful kidney transplant surgery in December, Nevermore guitarist Steve Smyth issues the following statement: The time has finally come to share a very important piece of news, directly related to my health. On December 12th, 2006, I had a successful kidney transplant! After six straight months on dialysis, changes to my lifestyle and diet, and a very thorough search for a suitable donor, by early August 2006, we had a preliminary match. Several rounds of blood and tissue typing tests had to be subsequently performed to ensure we were a perfect match for transplant; the main reason for my hesitance in saying anything publicly during those months.

The donor shall remain nameless, but my gratitude to him for his selfless act of kindness and friendship will endure forever! Thank you so much, you have no idea how much this means to me! I am now on the road to recovery, as they say.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
