Collective Soul Week: Persuasion of You
antiMusic reports: This week we have a real treat for you. One of the best songwriting bands of this generation, Collective Soul, is releasing their new album 'Afterwords' this week and we asked lead guitarist Joel Kosche to select his five favorite tracks from the CD and tell us a little bit about each one. (Ed checks in on a few tracks too!). Today Joel tells us about the song " Persuasion of You ":

This song kind of took on a different life once we started putting down the " keeper" guitars. All of the sudden the main riff went from a sort of strummy kind of thing to this big classic C. S. riff. I got to sing background vocals on that one which was a lot of fun. Our co-producer Anthony Resta called my guitar solo a 50 mile an hour haircut.

You can pick up 'Afterwords' at Target stores and iTunes now, plus see them on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Friday (August 31). You can preview the entire CD- right here!

Britney Child Abuser?
Hecklerspray reports: Obviously any claim of child abuse needs to be investigated thoroughly, which is why Britney Spears is now under scrutiny. However, it has been made clear that Britney Spears has not been accused of any violence against her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James - so what is she supposed to have done wrong? Did Britney puke on her children? Did Britney dress her children up in designer clothes and then rub s*** on them? Did the kids see pictures of Britney Spears's vagina and get sort of depressed because their mother has achingly nondescript genitals? No. As the New York Daily News reports, Britney Spears gives her children sugary drinks now and again:

Britney Spears' parenting prowess is again under scrutiny by the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services, celebrity Web site TMZ.com reported yesterday. This time the issues aren't related to immediate physical peril so much as poor dental hygiene, questionable diet and erratic sleeping schedules It's possible investigators are checking on rumors that Britney fills her sons' bottles with sugary drinks, wakes them when she returns from clubbing and takes them along on late night restaurant dinners.

That is obviously child abuse of the very worst kind - late night restaurant dinners? How dare Britney Spears be so irresponsible! We just pray that the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services doesn't discover that Britney wouldn't let her children order the lobster bisque at these restaurants either, for her sake.- more on this story

Winehouse Boycott
antiMusic reports: You might have a drug problem if your father-in-law is urging people to boycott your music in hopes it will convince you to get treatment. That's exactly what has happened to Amy Winehouse.

Winehouse's father in-law, Giles Fielder-Civil, told BBC Radio Five Live that fans should send his son and daughter-in-law a message. "Perhaps it is time to stop buying records. It's a possibility, to send that message."

Amy's father disagrees. He told the Victoria Derbyshire show "It won't send any message to Amy at all, unfortunately. If I thought it would, it would be a great idea," he said. "The only way out of this is not sectioning them, not locking them up. At some point they are going to reach rock bottom."

Stones Will Never Stop
antiMusic reports: When Mick Jagger sang "If you start me up I'll never stop," he really meant it. Rumors that the Rolling Stones concert in London last Sunday would be their last turned out to be just that, rumors.

Proving once again when you read that an unnamed "source" says something you can put as much faith in as you could a politician pandering for votes. This time a "source" claimed that the Stones were going to head off into the sunset following the end of their "A Bigger Bang Tour," because they were getting a bit too old to keep rocking. Initially the band helped fuel the rumor by not issuing a denial but now a member says that the band plans to live up to their famous lyric and will "never stop," according to Contact Music.

"We need a rest, but of course we will tour again," said guitarist Ronnie Wood. "We'll never stop."- more on this story

Contact Music reports: Veteran rockers Marillion performed with original frontman FISH for the first time in 19 years on Sunday (26Aug07).

The Kayleigh band reunited during a Fish solo performance at the Hobble On The Cobbles event in Aylesbury, England and played their 1982 debut single Market Square Heroes.

Fish - real name Derek DICk - left Marillion in 1988 to pursue a solo career and was replaced by singer Steve Hogarth. However, he insists the classic line-up's performance was a one-off and that there won't be a reunion tour.
