Doherty Avoids Jail Again |
Normally, if you are out of bail and get arrested, you'll find yourself behind bars for violating said bail conditions. Not if you're Pete Doherty. Police screwed up and didn't produce Doherty in court within 24 hours to face the bail violation charges. So those charges have been dropped.
Perhaps he signed a deal with the devil to get out of all of his numerous drug busts, or UK courts view drug laws like US officials view immigration laws, inconveniences to be ignored? Police issued a statement about this latest screw up. "Senior officers from Tower Hamlets are currently reviewing processes to establish why Mr Doherty was unable to be brought before the court within the 24-hour time frame.
"It would be inappropriate to go into any further detail until the MPS is absolutely clear about the exact sequence of events." - Read about why he was out on bail in the first place.

Chuck Ragan Between the Lines |
The song "Between the Lines" came to fruition after Ragan met with directors Ty Ponder and Scott Bass through a mutual friend. Following a day-long surf trip and a briefing on the film, Ragan took books of transcribed interviews home, and days later delivered a song interpreting the Vietnam War and its effects on two men's lives, thoughts and balances; the natural born fighter and the natural born peace maker.
"For me I believe the most important part of seeing this film and having the opportunity to write a song for it, was the learning," says Ragan.- more on this story including dates

Skate Rockers McRad Reunite |
FDR, named after the famous Philadelphia skate park, is due out on September 4 on Uprising Records and is the first new material from McRad in over twenty years and it picks up right where the band previously left off. Much has changed in the world since McRad first formed from the internet to iPods to plasma TV's but McRad still plays the same brand of skate punk that has earned them place on the soundtrack to skateboarding's history.
Formed in 1982, shortly after Treece earned
his first skate sponsorship, McRad has had music featured in skate video
staples such as Public Domain, Ban This, and Propaganda. Unfortunately,
McRad would only last one album. In 1990, Chuck Treece would leave skate
boarding to record his lone solo project Dream'n for Caroline Records.
This album helped to open the door for Treece to venture into the world
of studio work for the likes of Sting, Amy Grant, and The Goats among others.

Grand Ole Party Supporting Rilo Kiley |
They recorded their debut album, Humanimals, in March 2007 with Blake Sennet (Rilo Kiley, The Elected) over a five-day stretch of live recording, which perfectly captured the stripped-down power that embodies the Grand Ole Party sound.
Humanimals will be released September 4 exclusively on iTunes with bonus track "Shot In The Alley," but the band will also be selling CDs at their upcoming shows opening for Rilo Kiley.- more on this story

New Travis Mitchell Band CD in September |
Earlier this year, the band headed down to Gautier, Mississippi to record "Waiting On Tomorrow," their sophomore record, with Grammy-nominated artist Chris Henderson of the rock band 3 Doors Down.
The album, which Mitchell says is a "Nashville/Texas country mix," was completed in a rather hectic 22 days of pre-production, writing and recording. "I feel like this is the first time I've found my voice and my sound," says Mitchell. And that sound is quite versatile, as evidenced by the mix of honky-tonk, ballads, and rock-infused alt-country peppering the new album.- more on this story
