Bad Brains Release Sasquatch Video
PR reports: The Bad Brains first video off of Build A Nation has been finished by director and System Of A Down member, Shavo. The video for the track "Give Thanks And Praises" has posted online. Shot at Sasquatch Festival and also Portland Oregon by famed cinematographer Danny Hiele (U2, Green Day, Kanye West), the concept captures and merges punk and reggae.

Thus, the main punk video "Give Thanks And Praises" is seen merging into the dub reggae of "Jah Love." It's a concept Shavo felt did justice to the band as being innovators of punk rock:

"I really wanted to respect this band and bring out and capture what they are about, which is a certain intensity...yet, also bringing out all sides of the band. So, the brutal fury of the first video merges into this beautiful dub song. It is some of the most stunning cinematography from DP Danny Hiele I have ever seen. Glorious film style," says Shavo.- watch the vid here

Zappa Plays More Zappa
PR reports: After an initial roll-out last month, an additional leg of North American tour dates has been added to the Zappa Plays Zappa tour. Demand for the concert experience that brings the music of the late Frank Zappa to the stage, under the direction of his eldest son, Dweezil, has exceeded expectations, prompting the new tour dates. A special Halloween concert at New York's Beacon Theatre kicks off the just-announced new leg of the "Tour de Frank." The date represents the renewal of a Zappa family tradition that began over 35 years ago as Frank Zappa could be counted upon to perform at a New York area venue every Halloween.

The new dates continue a tour that launched last month with performance dates in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The newly announced dates, following the Halloween show in New York will see Dweezil and his group in Seattle, Austin, Edmonton and other top tier markets. - more on this story

Music Returns To Sunset Blvd
antiMusic reports: Never thought you'd see Morris Day and Buzzcocks perform at the same event? What about the O'Jays and Hot Hot Heat? When it comes to charity you can always count on artists from all walks of life to do their part and such is the case with the 27th Sunset Junction Street Festival which is set to take place on August 18th and 19th.

Filter says that it is "two days filled with food, art, games and rides, with entertainment blasting from three on going stages, all emerge to celebrate local diversity." And looking at the line up that seems to be the case and the best part is that tickets are only a couple bucks more than megaplex showing the latest forgettable garbage that Hollywood is churning out. Hum, two hours of a crappy movie from Hollywood or going to Hollywood for two days of music including Ben Harper, She Wants Revenge and more. Better yet the proceeds won't be going to fund more bad Hollywood movies and enrich idiot actors, it's going to the Sunset Junction Neighborhood Alliance.- more on this story
