Kwatinetz, head of management company The Firm, TMZ has learned exclusively.

year has been less than fruitful professionally: Her 2005 album "Rebirth"
was a disappointment, and though her role in "An Unfinished Life" with
Robert Redford and Morgan Freeman was critically praised, the film itself

Judging
a Song by its Title |
Noble PR reports: Ron And Russell Mael Have
Reacted Angrily To Sparks' New Single Dick Around Being Banned By BBC.
Ron Mael This Morning Raged: "The BBC Has Officially Killed Off Our New
Single Dick Around, Ostensibly Through Rather Childish Objections To The
Title, An Innocent Reference To The Idle Life. That A Piece Of Music Can
Be Condemned Purely By Its Title Without The 'Decision Makers' Even Having
The Decency To Open The Cd Case Is A Travesty And An Insult To Both Us
As The Creators Of The Music And To The Listeners Of The BBC"
Russell Mael Responded "The Reaction From
The Public To This Record Has Been Nothing But Positive So The Bcc Should
Stop Trying To Be The Morality Police When It Is So Clearly Misplaced"
The Reaction Came After Bbc London Refused To Play The Single, Despite
The Fact That Ron And Russell Were Invited Into The Studio As Guests Of
The Breakfast Show. The Host Jono Coleman Was Banned From Playing The Single
Dick Around. Ron And Russell Attempted To Walk Out Of The Studio But Were
Persuaded To Stay By Jono. He And His Co-Host Jo Good Were Obviously Embarrassed
- Particularly As They Quite Clearly Knew That The Term Means Wasting Time
- And The Interview Deteriorated Into A Farcical Discussion About Why The
BBC Would Not Permit The Single To Be Played.- Click

Count
Bass D's 4th |
Audible Treats reports: Dwight Farrell, aka
Count Bass D, will release his fourth full-length album on FatBeats Records
October 17th.. Entitled Act Your Waist Size, the album is filled with 20
genre-defying tracks that serve as further proof that the Count has never
been one to linger within the confines of convention in the cut-and-dry
music industry.
On Act Your Waist Size, Count Bass D once
again demonstrates his unique ability to showcase various styles in a hip-hop
context. In addition to his trademark boom-bap and instrumental tracks,
he reinterprets two 19th century standards, sings a self-penned ballad,
and offers his version of the southern sound. Lead single "Junkies (Hanging
Out At The Store)" rides on a laid back southern bass line while new-wave
keyboards percolate over the top [grab the mp3 at the full story link]
. Second single "Internationally Known" comes in at just under 2 minutes
and features Count flowing over a jazzy glissando loop backed by toy-like
drums. Given the success of artists like Outkast and Gnarls Barkley, it's
clear that creativity from a rap artist can be embraced by a larger audience,
but you won't find Count Bass D worrying about such trends. No, he's busy
just being one of many musicians trying to make it in Music City USA, and
he's doing it his way.- Click

Sued Over Art |
sleazeroxx.com reports: An art broker has
filed a lawsuit against Axl Rose, claiming the rocker backed out of a deal
to pay $2.36 million for an Andy Warhol portrait of John Lennon.
Acquire d'Arte, in a lawsuit filed Sept.
11 in Los Angeles Superior Court, said it negotiated with a New York art
gallery and was able to lower the price of the artwork from $2.65 million
to $2.36 million for Rose.
But after agreeing to buy the portrait,
the Guns N' Roses frontman paid only $1.21 million, according to the suit.

strategic partnerships or an outright sale of the company.

Coldplay
Snubs Timberlake |
Gigwise reports: Coldplay's Chris Martin turned
down the chance to collaborate with Justin Timberlake, telling him he only
sang on his band's records.
In a TV interview this week Timberlake
intimated he made an approach to the singer, only to be rebuffed with the
news that Martin only had eyes, or rather vocal chords, for Coldplay.
The pop star told Channel Four's T4, "I'd
like to get Chris Martin in the studio but he won't sing on anything but
Coldplay stuff. I respect him and I hate him for that." [see full story
to learn how Martin probably said that only as an excuse to get out recording

with him. Having the #1 album probably helped convince them] -

Settle on Name |
antiMusic reports: So Cal rockers Supernova
have settled their dispute with the supergroup from the CBS reality contest
"Rock Star: Supernova," according to AP. Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), Jason
Newsted (Metallica), Gilby Clark (Guns N' Roses) and contest winner Lukas
Rossi will now be known as Rock Star Supernova while the original band
will retain just plain Supernova.
Supernova has released three albums since
1991 and in June when they discovered the TV supergroup planned to use
their name they sued CBS, those involved in the show and Mark Burnett Productions
for unfair competition and trademark infringement. Did someone forget to
do a trademark search? No matter now, since you'll be able to tell the

White Fire Plea Deal, Owners Get Off Light |
antiMusic reports: The owners of the nightclub
that used highly flammable foam on their walls for soundproofing which
contributed to the tragic death of 100 people during a Great White concert
in 2003, have both entered plea deals. Both owners entered "no contest"
pleas to involuntary manslaughter and only one will have to serve prison
time.
"Michael Derderian will serve four years
in a minimum-security prison, with eligibility for a work release program,
and that Jeffrey Derderian will receive a suspended 10-year sentence,"
Eitv.comn reports.
About the fire: A Great White concert turned
deadly on Feb 20, 2003 at the Station in West Warwick, Rhode Island, when
the ceiling of the venue caught fire and the blaze quickly spread throughout
the club. 100 people lost their lives including Great White guitarist Ty
Longley and more than 160 people were injured after a onstage pyrotechnic
display ignited flammable foam on the walls and ceiling of the club. You
