Youth Details |
CMJ reports: Now that Sonic Youth has sent
out early copies of their latest LP, the long national nightmare of trying
to figure out the album's title and tracklist is finally over. It looks
like the new record is called Rather Ripped, not 'Sonic Death' or 'Do You
Believe In Rapture?' as previously reported. "Do You Believe In Rapture?"
has instead been reserved for one of the track's names. Rather Ripped will
be out June 13 on Geffen.[see full story for tracks]-

Scream Return |
Tripwire reports: Primal Scream is back with
a new album... and there was much rejoicing! Due out on June 5th in the

City Blues.
There are a few guest appearances on the
new tracks, including Will Sergeant from Echo & The Bunnymen, who plays
lead guitar on "When The Bomb Drops". Alison Mosshart from The Kills shows
up on a few tracks providing backing vocals, even singing a duet with Bobby
Gillespie on "Dolls". [see full story for more]- Click

Crazy
Bitch Paris |
BW&BK reports: In a recent interview with
Chart Attack, BUCKCHERRY vocalist Josh Todd revealed that the band's current
single, 'Crazy Bitch', from their new album 15, was inspired by the infamous
Paris Hilton sex tape.
"That kind of sparked the idea. All the
guys that we know have had crazy girls like that in their lives, so we
wanted to write a song with an idea that people could latch on to."[see

April |
Day in Rock reports: Live Nation/Clear Channel
reports that Guns N' Roses will release the long awaited Chinese Democracy
album next month. The report however does not specify where this information
came from.
This news comes after weeks of speculation
about the imminent release of the album after several tracks leaked and
Axl Rose playing the CD for several people. However, nothing official has
been announced as of yet but the band are set to play several festivals
in Europe this summer.
antiMusic's dolemint offered up a review
of the leaked tracks a couple weeks ago. [see full story for the

Update: Our good friends at Talking Metal
reported the following: Clear Channel's official website announced that
the long awaited Guns N' Roses album, "Chinese Democracy," would arrive
on store shelves in April, so TalkingMetal.com contacted Axl's management
to get the real scoop. Sanctuary Management told TalkingMetal.com that
the Clear Channel article was "interesting" but stressed that they will
issue an official press release when a release date is confirmed.-

Ozzfest? |
BW&BK reports: According to BW&BK
sources, the OZZFest/METALLICA rumour is getting bigger. The Bay Area thrashers
are "supposed to" announce their North American tour plans when they return
from South Africa after their March 25th show at Green Point Stadium in
Cape Town, South Africa. Metallica's schedule has them booked for June
and two dates in August - one of which (August 13th at Summer Sonic Festival
in Osaka, Japan) coincides with an OZZFest date. However, this leaves Metallica's
schedule open between July 1st and August 9th.[see full story for more]-

Bizkit
Over |
Rockdirt reports: Those hoping for new material
from Limp Bizkit won't be happy to hear what Wes Borland had to say to
MTV News. "We're officially on hiatus, maybe even officially over," the
guitarist said. "It's kind of up in the air. No one said, 'We're done as
a band.' Everyone's just doing their own thing, and [some members] don't
have time for this band anymore. I haven't quit, but I've also decided
to stop thinking about Limp.[see full story for more]-

Van
Halen RIP? |
KNAC reports: Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony
was interviewed in February 2006 for the April issue, which is out now.
...On the current status of Van Halen: "Well never say never but we're
currently in a state of limbo. After the reunion tour ended so abruptly
we all went into our own corners and truthfully Ed doesn't want to tour
right now or maybe ever again. I don't know what he's thinking at this
point. So I would say that we're on a temporary hiatus that possibly could
become permanent, you never know. With that said I realize that's not much
of an answer but that's really where things are right now and tomorrow
it could all change again."[see full story for A TON more, he discusses
