Nation of ---holes
PR reports: Prior to the forthcoming release of This Moment In Black History's musically and lyrically hard-hitting landmark album It Takes A Nation (of ---holes to Hold Us Back) a diverse assortment of press -- including VIBE and Alternative Press -- has elicited praise for the group's latest work. The forthcoming Cold Sweat Records debut (the band's second album) throws down the gauntlet in all aspects, from the challenging and gutsy references of the title to Steve Albini's fierce-sounding production. VIBE magazine praises the album in its forthcoming issue and Alternative Press weighs in with a four star rating.

Consistent with the trailblazing musical innovators of its Ohio home (Devo, Pere Ubu, The Cramps, et al), This Moment In Black History is poised to take position amongst the lineage of such legends with its inflammatory sophomore album. The Cleveland quartet's music was once humorously described as "James Brown being violently hijacked by Gang of Four." However, This Moment in Black History's sound is more accurately described as a potent mixture of classic punk guitars and an intense vocal delivery punctuated by (in the band's terms) the "blackest" rhythm section in today's current underground scene. The band musically traverses territories blazed by Bad Brains, The Monorchid and Pere Ubu, while its lyrics challenge social and political norms with the wit and insight of Black Flag or Public Enemy. Next 2 Buckcherry
PR reports: Buckcherry turned to fans for inspiration for the second video from their well-received new album, 15. The video for "Next 2 You," the follow-up to the smash single "Crazy Bitch," was spawned from a contest where Buckcherry fans submitted their own videos for the single on Youtube.com and Myspace.com. Buckcherry took their cue from one of the user-generated clips, with help from director Randee St. Nicholas, and developed a big-budget version of the concept submitted by Buckcherry fans Syd & Lexy, who's "Next 2 You" video has accumulated over 25,000 views to date.

Eliana Beck Elias
PR reports: Eliane Elias' latest album Around The City, which contains a hot new cover of Beck's "Tropicalia." Eliane weaves the rhythm of her Brazilian roots, smoky, seductive vocals and sick yet subtle piano chops into the pop hit. "Tropicalia," (from the 1998 album Mutations) was a homage to the Brazilian Tropicalia psychedelic/soul fusion movement of the mid-1960's (powered by the likes of Sao Paulo musical anarchists Os Mutantes, Gal Costa and Gilberto Gil, among others), the latter of whom has been a huge influence for Eliane. Now she returns the favor with her own take on this Beck favorite.

On her latest album, Eliane has hooked up with some of the hottest writers, producers, and DJs on the scene. Red-hot producer Andres Levin (Latin-funk master known as the brainchild behind the Afro/Latin/Hip hop fusion of Yerba Buena's Island Life) infuses 'Around the City' with a funky tropical vibe that mixes bossa nova with a deep Latin groove. Eliane also collaborated with the songwriting trio Lauren Christy, Graham Edwards & Scott Spock- collectively known as 'The Matrix.' This in-demand, writing/production team has co-written chart-topping and Grammy-nominated singles for artists like Liz Phair, Jason Mraz and Korn. Pharoahe Monch's Desire
Cornerstone reports: Raised on the infamous Southside of NYC's Queens borough, a young Monch caught the Hip-Hop bug early as the culture born in the Rotten Apple. It would be while attending art school that Pharoahe would find his calling as an emcee, and eventually co-founded the rap duo Organized Konfusion. It was here that a still young Pharoahe began to display his full potential for the first time, transforming himself into a superhero emcee, painting vivid verbal pictures on cuts such as "Stray Bullet" whilst amazing listeners with his unpredictable-but-flawless flow on the jaw-dropping "Hypnotical Gases".

Now settled at Steve Rifkind's SRC Records, Pharoahe Monch, one of Hip-Hop's most gifted lyricists, is ready to reintroduce himself to a rap world crying out for genuine artists with his long-awaited album,Desire. At a time when a rapper's image and financial status appear to capture the attention of fans more than lyrical content and creative production, Pharoahe has refused to "dumb-down" his new project, choosing instead to adhere to the rules and principles he learnt growing-up in Hip-Hop's Golden Age - be original, be true to yourself and be as skilful as possible on the mic device. But that said; don't expect to hear Monch stuck in a time-warp on Desire. With beats from the likes of Mr. Porter (Kon-Artist of D12), The Alchemist, Detroit's Black Milk and long-time collaborator Lee Stone, the lyrical king from Queens is definitely looking to move the art form of Hip-Hop forward with this album.
