Since
the Flood Inks Deal |
Metal Blade reports: Metal Blade Records has
officially inked a worldwide deal with the brutal North Shore/Boston Massachusetts
hardcore band Since the Flood. Since The Flood's debut release, No Compromise
will mark the bands follow up to the underground hit Valor and Vengeance
which came out through Iron Clad Recordings (Unearth frontman Trevor Phipps'
label) in February 2005. No Compromise, recorded at Outpost Studios in
Stoughton, MA with Jim Siegal (Blood for Blood, Cave In, and the Dropkick
Murphys), shows the band heading in a more focused and intense direction
with the end results being a far more concentrated hardcore record than
anything they have done in the past. "There's no doubt in our mind that
both old fans, and new, will be very surprised and pleased with the direction
we've gone musically since Valor and Vengeance" states the band. No Compromise
will be released in early 2007. More information and tour dates will be
released shortly. [get a taste at the full story link]-

Locksley
Won't Wait |
PR reports: The wait is finally over. Brooklyn-based
quartet Locksley have made their upcoming album Don't Make Me Wait available
for preorder on their website at www.bandoflocksley.com. Don't Make Me
Wait is scheduled for official release through the band's own Feature Records
on November 21 and features 13 tracks of upbeat British Invasion inspired
garage rock that cap out around the just-long-enough-to-stick-in-your-head
three minute mark. Not to fear, though, these are songs you'll gladly want
stuck in your head. The album's first single, Why Not Me, already won the
#1 slot on MTVu's The Freshmen, a weekly show dedicated to letting viewers
vote their favorite videos into rotation. Locksley are the only unsigned
band to win. [see full story for more]- Click

Leon
Vs Cancer |
PR reports: Business entrepreneur and jazz
musician, Leon makes plans to spearhead a fitting tribute to his late mother
with a pledge to raise $50,000 for cancer research. This bold undertaking
solidifies just what is important to Leon. Leon believes that "man is at
his best when he is helping others", and that is just what he does.
During the night owl hours, Leon is "One
to One" with his music. He plays his jazz guitar, he writes his music and
he reflects on life. As a musician of genuine talent and passion, he has
often been heard saying, "I can't make any new notes, but the notes I play
are played with passion". With that same passion he will use proceeds from
his recently released solo CD, MY SOUL SPEAKS, to realize his goal of $50,000.
Leon is a people person. His vision, his life's philosophy and his love
for his mother are all the lighthouses that guide him during this sincere
endeavor.- Click

Emmich
Carries on After Epic's Failure |
PR reports: After two years on Epic Records
and nothing to show for his efforts but a re-released version of his debut
album SLOW DOWN KID, Val Emmich begged successfully for the privilege to
walk away from a multiple album deal and returned to the exact place where
he started - writing music by himself for himself. In the fall of 2005,
he moved into a house in Woodstock, New York and started working on new
material. Armed only with an acoustic guitar and plenty of red wine, Emmich
spent the next two weeks shaking off the weight of all expectations other
than his own.
The result is SUNLIGHT SEARCHPARTY, a 14-track
album Emmich will self-release on October 24.[see full story for more]-

zebrahead
Returns |
Rock Ridge reports: It's been two years since
we last heard from zebrahead, but the Orange County, California-based band
is making its presence felt once again with the group's highly-anticipated
new album Broadcast to the World. Revitalized, road-tightened and eager
to redefine its focus, the quintet comes out swinging, delivering a flurry
of pummeling rhythms, clench-fisted chords and meaty hooks that connect
with each listen.
Produced by Cameron Webb (Motorhead, Social
Distortion, Silverstein ,Tenacious D) and the band, Broadcast to the World
proves it was worth waiting for with smart, razor-sharp rockers like "Rated
U for Ugly," "Karma Flavored Whisky" and "Broadcast to the World." The
album has all the electrifying energy of a live zebrahead show, blending
raging tempos and ringing guitar lines into surging, insistent choruses
that stick after a single listen. Hits stores on 10/24 but you can grab
a 5 song preview at the full story link.
