Band Injures Fan
blabbermouth.net reports: Dennis Rich of The Sedalia Democrat reports that The Delicious Rox Festival 2006, which brought 19 heavy metal bands to the Dodge Arena at the Missouri State Fairgrounds Saturday (Sept. 30) was cut short after a female in the crowd was injured. Warrensburg-based Andaro Entertainment and Media, Budwiser Beers and Revolver magazine sponsored the show, which included several regional acts, as well as headliners DROWNING POOL and FEAR FACTORY, who did not play because of decision to end the festival.

Sedalia Police Chief John DeGonia said by telephone Saturday night that the concert's promoter, Deacon Gower, had approached law enforcement officers shortly after 10 p.m. requesting their assistance to help shut down the show. Chief DeGonia said Mr. Gower advised him that his insurance provider had stipulated that any injury would mandate the show's cancellation. "Apparently a member of one of the bands that had played earlier in the day threw a beer bottle into the crowd, injuring a female," Chief DeGonia said.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Coldplay Hiatus
pr-inside reports: British rockers COLDPLAY are set to take five-year hiatus from recording to concentrate on their families. Following the success of their chart-topping third album X&Y, frontman CHRIS MARTIN is desperate to spend quality time with wife GWYNETH PALTROW raising their children APPLE and MOSES. Coldplay bassist GUY BERRYMAN welcomed baby daughter NICO into the world earlier this month (SEP06), and is also keen to turn his attention to being a family man.

Martin says, "It's going to be a long, long time before you hear a new album from us. We've done a few things, but we're all enjoying having families at the moment. "If it takes five years for us to feel ready to record something new, then so be it. We need plenty of time to let it come together organically."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Emo is Dangerous?
pr-inside reports: KASABIAN frontman TOM MEIGHAN has attacked emo bands including FALL OUT BOY, PANIC! AT THE DISCO and MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE.

The CUTT OFF rocker believes the rock sub-genre is a negative influence on emotionally confused teenagers. He tells MTV, "I keep hearing how emo music is bringing kids together and that it's got these positive messages and all that, but if it's damaging teenagers and if it's making them depressed, how can that be a good thing? "All it causes is moaning teenagers. There's nothing positive from it. It may upset people, but emo is dead in my eyes. F**k emo. Just enjoy the world."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Pillar's Reckoning
Chipster reports: PILLAR 'The Reckoning' to release October 3rd, 2006, Headlining Days of Reckoning Tour planned for fall 2006. As evidenced by their fourth release overall, The Reckoning, the Oklahoma-based quartet, Pillar, continue to hone their melodic yet simple and tough sound. Were all from the Midwest. Its all about real rock and roll, explains singer Rob Beckley. And while Reckoning should appeal to fans of good ol rock and roll, there is a modern edge to the tunes as well the Tool-esque Awake, the Jimmy Eat World-like Sometimes, and the Rage Against the Machine vs. AC/DC heavyweight bout, Everything. Produced by Travis Wyrick and Pillar and mixed by David Bendeth (Hawthorne Heights, As I Lay Dying, Breaking Benjamin), The Reckoning carries on the Midwests legacy of rich rock with sounds and themes inspired by Pillars home turf.
