Houston
Calls Lose Kenny |
punkbands reports: Kenny has left Houston
Calls. He writes: This is Kenny here, and I'm writing to unfortunately
say that I'm leaving the band. I've been in Houston Calls for almost 4
years now, and it's been amazing to tour with my best friends and create
music I truly enjoy to play and listen to. But when I was younger I accrued
a very large debt from paying for college with student loans, which wasn't
cheap let me tell you. For a long time I was able to avoid paying my debt
thanks to deferment and making small payments.
Creditors will only allow you to push them
off to the side for so long, and mine are back after me with a vengeance.
I hate to say this but because of my financial problems I can't continue
to be in Houston Calls. [see full story for more]- Click

GNR
Tour Report |
PR reports: Rob De Luca (Sebastian Bach Band/Spread
Eagle) reporting in from the Gn'R/Bach Tour: "The crowd responses have
been AMAZING! The show in Quebec City was beyond my wildest dreams. The
audience was deafening for the entire hour. There's far too many great
shows to list. Both bands are sharp and consistently delivering powerful
sets! We're now making our way to the West coast.
On Guns' off nights, Baz headlines the
local theatre/club. On those shows we open for ourselves... Metal Mike
Chlasciak (Bach, Halford), Bobby Jarzombek (Bach, Halford) and myself do
an extreme metal set of PainmuseuM and Halford tunes. It's so much fun
doing two sets." This year Spread Eagle's Debut Album was reissued by Lovember

Singer
No Longer Wanted |
PR reports: The SingerWanted.net project has
finally reached its conclusion! Here's the way it went: a group looking
for ITS OWN singer forgoes traditional auditions and comes up, instead,
with a truly unique web solution. On the www.singerwanted.net site, basic
instrumental tracks are made available. The competitors sign up to the
project, download the tracks and add their own vocal parts. The best entries
are published on the site and votes are cast.
During the course of a full year online,
the site clocks up large numbers of daily visits from around the world.
A total of 230 singers sign up to the project, some from as far away as
Australia and the USA. The "IMPROPONIBILI" take shape. (The name translates
roughly as The "UNPROPOSABLES") The singer who comes out on top - the one
who makes the group say "WE HAVE FOUND THE SINGER WE WANTED!" - is called
Maurizio, and is a well-known voice on the Italian underground scene under
the alias Doppia K. He fits is perfectly with the rest of the band.-

Screamers
of a Down |
PR reports: In the new film Screamers, director
Carla Garapedian traces the history of modern-day genocide - and genocide
denial - from the fertile " Holy Mountains " of Anatolia to the current
atrocities in Darfur .The documentary is as shattering as it is powerful,
which includes live performance footage and interviews with System Of A
Down, the multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning rock band, all of whose
members are of Armenian descent. The film is laced with seven of the band's
songs from "Holy Mountains" to "P.L.U.C.K." to the #1 hit "B.Y.O.B." that
illuminate the band's views on political and social issues. Screamers is
set for a limited release in Los Angeles, CA on December 8th. You can check

Elementary
End |
Relapse reports: Canadian quintet THE END
has released more details, as well as the first track from their long-awaited
new full-length album Elementary. Elementary, which marks an enormous step
forward in creative growth and songwriting for the band, was recorded throughout
the summer at BWC Studios in Brampton, Ontario with engineer and longtime
friend Greg Dawson. The finished track listing for Elementary is as follows;
"Dangerous", "The Never Ever Aftermath", "Animals", "The Moth and I", "Throwing
Stones", "My Abyss", "Awake?", "A Fell Wind", "In Distress", and "And Always...".
"We have been hiding in obscurity for the last year writing and recording
this album and we're all about ready to explode." guitarist Andrew Hercules
illuminates; "Hopefully that doesn't actually happen or else we'd have
a big gory mess to clean out of the van. Simply put I think this will be
one of those records you fall madly in love with or decree it to be the
bane of your existence, but you won't forget it."
An advance preview track taken from Elementary,
"Animals", is available now via the band's official MySpace page [see full
story link]. Elementary is set for a February 6, 2007 North American release
date (February 12 internationally).
