Blue
Cheer Tour |
PR reports: BLUE CHEER (the legendary rock
band responsible for heavy music today), kicked off their US tour on Saturday
November 11th @ the Khyber in Philadelphia. BLUE CHEER are legendary cult
heroes of all things rock n' roll. Formed in the late 1960's in San Francisco,
the band helped blaze the trail of heavy metal music in America. A "power
trio" named after a brand of LSD created by Owsley Stanley (Grateful Dead),
the band broke through to the masses in 1968 when their cover of the song
"Summertime Blues" climbed to #14 on the Billboard top 100 (the song appeared
on the band's debut release "Vincebus Eruptum" and would later be covered
by the Who in 1970).

Preston
Raises 25K for Stevie Nicks Soldier's Angel Foundation |
PR reports: It was a star-studded event November
9 at the newly-opened MORRISON HOTEL GALLERY on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood.
Luminaries such as Stevie Nicks, Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart, Cameron
Crowe, Anthony Keidis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Neil Diamond and Keith
Emerson came to support their friend, legendary rock photographer NEAL
PRESTON, at his first ever West Coast photo exhibit. All proceeds from
PRESTON's print sales that night were donated to The Stevie Nicks Soldier's
Angel Foundation, totaling $25,000.00.
The Stevie Nicks Soldier's Angel Foundation,
established in 2006, seeks to aid the healing process of wounded U.S servicemen
and women returning from overseas duty through the gift of music. Donations
are used to purchase iPods, which are then loaded with music and personally

Relient
K Fifth |
PR reports: On March 6, 2007, Gotee Records/Capitol
will release Five Score And Seven Years Ago, Relient K's fifth album in
seven years and the follow up to 2004's mmhmm, the band's third consecutive
Gold album.
Although Five Score And Seven Years Ago's
14 songs are written in the first person, Thiessen has ventured beyond
the confessional this time around. "Plead the Fifth" and "Deathbed," the
two songs that bookend the album, step into the shoes of a 19th century
man with an intriguing conspiracy theory about Abraham Lincoln and an aging
cancer patient respectively. The album, most of which was produced by Howard
Benson in Los Angeles with three tracks completed thereafter with the band's
longtime producer Mark Townsend in Nashville, is a departure of sorts for
the pop-punk band. For starters, there are some love songs - happy ones.
"I always write about what I'm going through and I can't avoid the fact
that I'm just really happy and there are some good things going on," says
lead singer/guitarist/pianist Matt Thiessen. This happy state of mind lights
up the exuberant first single "Must Have Done Something Right." "This song
represents something that I've wanted to create for a long time," he explains.
"It's not a political commentary or a tear jerking emotion-piece, it's
just a feel good, fun song. Written at 3 a.m. with a smirk on my face,
the song turned out to be something that you can tap your foot and smile
to." - Click
