Thursday Keep it Real

(punkbands) Katie Ellsweig of punkbands.com recently did an interesting interview with Thursday's Tim Payne. In this except Tim explains the direction the band took with 'A City By The Light Divided' and how they tried to distance themselves from the copycat bands that came after them:

Tim: We set out to do something that we have never done before. If people don't like it, I think that there's an issue with a lot younger people who will say "oh, there's no screaming." At this point, there are so many bands that scream for the sake of screaming and we've never been a band that wanted to do that for the sake of doing it. There were a lot of decisions we made as far as what kind of album we wanted to write that weren't based on what's happening in music in the present day; it's based on the people that we were. That's really how we wrote Waiting and Full Collapse: we were just friends making music together.
