Super Group
antiMUSIC reports: Vh1's Super Group premiers this Sunday 10PM. Here is a bit of a review from antiGUY: I sighed when I heard about this one. Great another fricken reality show! So I went into watching the premier episode that Vh1 sent over with very low expectations, already mentally writing the trashing review in my head. Then something funny happened, it kicked total ass! This turned out to be the best reality show ever produced by Vh1. The cast of characters is perfect and it indeed turns out to be an honest to Lemmy Super Group. You have Ted Nugent, Jason Bonham, Scott Ian, Sebastian Bach, Evan Seinfeld(Biohazard) brought together under Doc McGee's management to form a new super group in a cheesed out mansion in Las Vegas. When you think Vegas gaudy, that doesn't even approach how bad this house is. One of the rockers ever joked that it's worse than Donald Trump's place (so yeah, it's that goddamn gaudy!). But the house isn't the big part of this story. That belongs to the interaction between the stars and others. You see old school hard rock vs newer school rock mentality when they are hashing out the new songs, but the best moments come in the first episode when the band meets their publicity team, the same folks that worked with the Backstreet Boys. Just imagine what a Ted Nugent or Scott Ian would think of that and multiple it by 11. It turns out to be one of the most classic reality scenes ever.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Guided by Clouds
Press Release reports: Clouds Forming Crowns is the collective brainchild of Todd and Tim Tobias, two indie rock apostles whose extensive contributions to the legacy of Guided By Voicesstill shine years afterward as essentials at the core of Robert Pollard¹s creations. Tim, who recorded and performed with Guided By Voices during their last five years as a band, shares production and songwriting credits with his talented brother Todd, who produced GBV¹s last three albums and solo work for Robert Pollard. The formula is simple: Tim writes the outlines of the songs, and Todd fills in the blanks. Race to the Blackout is the follow-up to their critically acclaimed self-titled 2004 release and a continuation of the collaborative energies that fueled the spark of that first release. Rock Hood
Press Release reports: LAUREL CANYON: The Inside Story of Rock-and-Roll's Legendary Neighborhood, by Michael Walker, will be published in hardcover by Faber and Faber on May 25, 2006.

In the late sixties, musicians like Joni Mitchell, Jim Morrison, Carole King, Frank Zappa, the Eagles, and the Mamas and the Papas came together for the first time to meld folk, rock, and American pop into something completely new, something that would launch a generation into history. LAUREL CANYON is the account of what happened behind the scenes to make that generation of music blow up and out of Laurel Canyon, California. Walker recreates jam sessions at the home of Joni Mitchell and then drives down the streets of Laurel Canyon today, listening as those same songs waft out of bungalow windows. f**k the music scene
Victory reports: The Autumn Offering is saying "f**k the music scene," at least in a message they sent out today. Here is what they had to say: I just wanted to let you know how much we F**King appreciate you helping us out with everything. With our new record, EMBRACE THE GUTTER, we have seriously had it with the music scene. We are doing everything in our power to bring real metal back. Everywhere you look now, whether it be MTV or online, you see nothing but the same F**King bulls*** over and over... It has become more about the look than it has about the music. It's been more about purposely writing songs about topics just because they're guaranteed to sell. IT'S PATHETIC!

Well, the time has come for a F**King change... If you're fat, F**King embrace it. If you're horribly skinny, embrace it; if you party hard, embrace it. F**K WHAT THE MAINSTREAM IS TELLING YOU! As a human, you have no expectations to meet, and everyone right now (the majority of the music scene) is doing nothing but trying to keep things cool and not cross any boundaries... Well, love us or hate us... we're saying, "F**K YOU!" F**K YOU TO ALL OF THEM, F**K THE BANDS WHO FOLLOW THE TREND! F**K THE KIDS WHO FOLLOW THE TREND... IT'S TIME TO WAKE THE F**K UP...
