Hot Water Split
punkbands reports: After more than a decade together, a letter from Chuck Ragan suggests that Hot Water Music's extended break is now a break up. In the letter, Ragan explains:

Nanna Vs Lymphoma
punkbands reports: Bob Nanna, former vocalist/guitarist from Braid and Hey Mercedes and currently of The City on Film, was recently diagnoisted with Extranodal Marginal B-Cell Lymphoma. According to his website - which has been updated with photos and fairly detailed accounts of chemotherapy treatments - the diagnosis came shortly after a surgery on his right eye. SMN reports: On thursday May 11th JOB FOR A COWBOY guitarist Ravi Bhadriraju was injured in a car accident. We're glad to announce that hes ok, but his left shoulder and arm are banged up. Ontop of that, for the first few days hes been forced to wear a sling by doctors. In the past week we've had to let our second guitarist go and have been uncapable of finding a fill in on time. Solo Yorke
The Tripwire reports: After rumors have bounced around about the possibilities of Thom Yorke's work on a solo album, the Radiohead frontman has finally let the cat out of the bag. Stereogum was keeping an eye on this over the weekend, and happened to catch the good news! Although at first it seemed like a possible hoax, NME has confirmed the solo-tastic announcement.

The original note from the W.A.S.T.E. email list, written by Thom, stated:
this is just a note to say that something has been kicking around in 
the background that i have not told you about.
its called The Eraser.

Rand to Miss Atheist Gigs
Relapse reports: Veteran ATHEIST guitarist Rand Burkey has been forced to bow out of the band's forthcoming festival performances due to legal troubles. 

Filling in for Burkey will be veteran guitarist Chris Baker. Baker will be joining core ATHEIST members Kelly Shaefer, Tony Choy, and Steve Flynn as well as guitarist Sonny Carson (who will be playing Shaefer's guitar role due to Shaefer's long-running battles w/ tendonitis and carpal tunnel.) Gomez's Anatomy
Red Music reports: After gaining significant exposure at this year's SXSW, the ATO Records-signed British alternative rock band Gomez is set to face greater national broadcast. The title track of the band's fifth studio album "How We Operate" will be featured on the 2-hour season finale of ABC's top rating show "Grey's Anatomy." 

Gomez is no newcomer to the music scene. Under the guidance of Foo Fighter's producer Gil Norton, "How We Operate," released in the U.S. on May 2, showcases the band's relentless versatility and refreshing sound. 

The season finale of "Grey's Anatomy" will be aired over two days�an hour on Sunday, May 14 (10/9 c) and a two-hour special on Monday, May 15 (9/ 8c). "How We Operate" will be featured on the latter date. The band is in the midst of their U.S./U.K. tour alongside I-Nine, David Ford, Magic Numbers, Army of Me, Dave Matthews Band, The Elected, Tunng, and Clayhill, lasting until July 2. - Click Here for the Full Story

Staff Meeting: Dr Fever
antiMusic reports: A lot of people work hard to make antiMusic what it is. So with our 8th anniversary we felt it was time to spotlight each writer so you can get to know them a little better. Over the next few weeks we will be posting a small portion of each staff person's new profile page. So let's get to know Dr Fever a little better.

Dr Fever has been with antiMusic since 1999. The first cassette he purchased was Poison's "Look What The Cat Dragged In" his first CD was Green Day's "Dookie" and his first concert was "with my parents to see George Jones...I remember him being so blindingly drunk he cut the show short. Hilarious." He lists Clutch, Cave In, ISIS, Waylon Jennings, Fiona Apple, Ryan Adams, Black Sabbath, High On Fire, KillWhitneyDead, Sick of It All, Converge and Bloodjinn as his Top 12 Favorite artist. His musical pet peeve is "People like Karen O. I often pray that she, and people like her, get hit by a speeding train."
