Paul Simon Surprise |
'Surprise' is the first album that Paul Simon has worked on in collaboration with legendary producer Brian Eno. The result is a captivating collection of songs captured in mesmerising style by Eno's inventive production. 'Surprise', his first album since 2000's You're The One', is reminiscent of classics from his back catalogue such as Paul Simon', There Goes Rhyming Simon' and Still Crazy After All These Years'. DeadStar Assembly Unsaved |
The violent industrial mayhem of DeadStar Assembly is about to set the anti-mainstream ablaze for a second arson with the release of their sophomore record, Unsaved. The troupe of musical avant-gardes has returned with 15 new tracks of sonic mastery and electronic combustion to deliver a testimonial of struggle, devotion and finally perseverance. Like demented seraphim, DSA's poisonous blend of death-pop/industrial rock is inscribed with no apologies, and as heard on Unsaved, they don't intend to start. Unsaved was written, recorded, and sweated over as an entirely collaborative band effort. The album of chaotic synths and havoc-reeking melodies features all live instrumentation with additional electronic percussion and digital effects weaved amongst it. Donavon Frankenreiter Soph |
Move By Yourself is the next step in the natural progression of an artist looking to spread his wings. Move By Yourself is somewhat of a sonic departure from the Southern California native's self-titled 2004 Brushfire Records debut, which yielded the Top 5 AAA single "Free". Donavon and company (Matt Grundy/bass, Eric Brigmond/keys and Craig Barnette/drums) have stamped their signature brand of "feel good music with a soul" all over this new offering. The album feels like a breath of fresh airold-school fresh air, that is. [see full story for a preview]- Click Here for the Full Story

Staff Meeting: Keavin Wiggins |
Keavin is from Orange County, Ca and founded antiMusic. The first album he purchased was 'Pyromania' by Def Leppard and he says of his first concert "It's kind of a blur. I believe it was Judas Priest but it could have been KISS or Def Leppard opening for another band.". He lists Beatles, AC/DC, Ozzy (through Bark), Iron Maiden, Guns N Roses, Enuff Z'nuff, Angie Aparo, (Cliff era) Metallica, KISS and Soul Asylum as his Top 10 Favorite artist. His musical pet peeve is "Classic songs in TV adverts. Someone should fire the ad men for this because it is a sin on so many levels. But alas the boomers are nostalgic consumers and this must reach the sell outs when a classic song comes on the radio in their SUVs, it reminds them to stop at Target to pick up the latest useless gadget or 'must have' fad product." His favorite parts of antiMusic are "The reviews. Say what ever you want about us, but we have some of the best critics in the business! (Probably because they do it for the love the music.) Also the unprintable stuff Dolly sends over." Click the full story to learn more about Keavin and discover which artist's songs he labels 'ubber intellectual retarded nursery rhymes,' who he blames for Clay Aiken and a lot more!- Click Here for the Full Story
