hecklerspray reports: For the thoughtful voice
of hip-hop, guns seem to follow Kanye West around quite a lot. Last night
at a concert in Birmingham, two security guards were shot by a man who
didn't have a ticket.
Shooting someone just because you can't
see Kanye West seems a little bit extreme. Surely the easier thing to do
would be to get down to the local retirement home instead, paint all the
old ladies gold and get them to walk around while you ridiculously dress
up an old man and get him to repeatedly tell you how brilliant he is at
everything. It'd be just like the real thing, and far less violent, too.[see

Contact Music reports: JON BON JOVI is disgusted
rock rival AXL ROSE receives more media attention than he does, because
the reclusive GUNS N' ROSES frontman "hasn't made a record in 13 years".
He says, "You know what p**ses me off? I was reading this British rock
magazine this month and there was a story about Axl Rose and the $13 million
Guns N' Roses record that was never made. "That motherf**ker hasn't made
a record in 13 years and he gets all that attention. You know what I've
done in 13 years? A lot. But they have continued to write about the freak
show aspect of him. Because he's a recluse. That makes him interesting,

AP reports: Scott Stapp thinks a recently
released sex video showing him and Kid Rock with several strippers is meant
to sabotage him. "Obviously someone wants to hurt me and doesn't want me
to be successful in my solo career," Stapp told AP Radio in a recent interview.
Stapp claims the tape, which was made in
1999, was stolen from him. He and Kid Rock have won a temporary court order
preventing World Wide Red Light District from distributing the video or

Reuters reports: U.S. rapper Busta Rhymes
has been sued by a disgruntled fan who says the artist assaulted him after
he asked for an autograph.
Melvin Smith, 37, in a civil suit made
public in Manhattan Supreme Court on Wednesday, says the 33-year-old rapper
and his bodyguard Troy Green beat him with their "hands and fists for no
rhyme or reason," Smith's lawyer said.[see full story for more]-

chart, the soundtrack to Disney Channel's "High School Musical" jumped
five places to No. 1 on the U.S. albums chart Wednesday, becoming the first

antiMusic reports: Yet another track has escaped
from the Guns N' Roses vaults. A full length version of "Catcher in the
Rye" is making the rounds on the net. Following the same pattern as the
song "Better," a short clip first surfaced to wet fans appetite with the
full length song leaking a few days later.
As for the sound of this new leak, it's
a mid tempo melodic rocker. This may have been the track Axl was thinking
about when he mentioned to Rolling Stone recently that the new material

CMJ reports: Brooklyn indie heroes TV On The
Radio have jumped ship from Touch & Go and made their way over to Interscope.
The band joins friends Yeah Yeah Yeahs on the major, where they will release
their much-anticipated sophomore full-length. The album, the follow-up
to 2004's acclaimed Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes has few confirmed
details, though rumors indicte it will be called Return To Cookie Mountain
and a tracklist and leak have made their way onto file-sharing services.[see

UFO have posted the following message on their official web site:
"Phil [Mogg, vocals] has just returned
from Vinnie's [Moore, guitar] house in Delaware where he and Vinnie have
been working on songs for the new album. In mid-March, all the bandmembers
are due to arrive in Hannover, Germany to start rehearsing and developing
the twelve songs that have resulted from the writing sessions. In late

Blabbermouth reports: MONSTER MAGNET have
cancelled their European tour after the group's mainman, Dave Wyndorf,
was hospitalized following a drug overdose.
"The battle with one's inner demons is
the most personal fight any of us can undertake," said MONSTER MAGNET's
manager, Steve Davis of Davis Entertainment Group. "The fight is at times
a lonely, confusing journey. On the evening of February 27, Dave Wyndorf
suffered a setback in his own fight and was hospitalized due to a drug
overdose. His full recovery is expected. We ask that all those he has encountered
over the years or simply affected by his music to take a moment to think

Sebastian Bach has checked in from the Las Vegas set of the new VH1 reality
TV show, tentatively titled "Supergroup", which features Bach alongside
Scott Ian (ANTHRAX; guitar), Ted Nugent (guitar), Evan Seinfeld (BIOHAZARD;
bass), Sebastian Bach (ex-SKID ROW; vocals) and Jason Bonham (BONHAM, UFO,
FOREIGNER; drums). Commented Bach: "I am playing in a band with Ted Nugent,
Scott Ian, Jason Bonham, and Evan Seinfeld!!!!!! We are called DAMNOCRACY!!!
We are playing live in Las Vegas this Sunday at the Empire Ballroom!!!
