Blood Like Honey |
Machine Shop reports: The sultry vocals and
poignant lyricism of Holly Brook have just begun their emergence onto the
music scene. For years now, this 20 year old singer-songwriter from Wisconsin
has been documenting her life's trials, tribulations, and triumphs into
lyrics that are at once strikingly personal, yet universally appealing.
Her musicianship, songwriting, and multi-instrumentalism are a testament
to her status as one of the fastest rising singer-songwriters of this generation.
She first broke onto the scene as the hauntingly
affecting voice featured in the chorus of the FortMinor song, "Where'd
You Go." Since touring with Mike Shinoda and Styles of Beyond- the core
of FortMinor- she has readied herself to take on the spotlight propped
up on nothing but her own two feet armed with her guitar and piano. Her
debut album, LIKE BLOOD LIKE HONEY hitting shelves on June 6, is an intimate
collection of dusky, sepia-toned piano-driven pop gems.[see full story
