Creedence
Clearwater Revisited |
PR reports: Creedence Clearwater Revival founding
members and Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Stu Cook and Doug "Cosmo" Clifford
have announced summer and fall concerts to be performed by their band Creedence
Clearwater Revisited. The two former members of the legendary group Creedence
Clearwater Revival launched the Creedence Clearwater Revisited project
to once again perform live Creedence Clearwater Revival hits - the touchstones
of a generation. The 2006 summer and fall tour will take the group around
the United States and Canada, highlighted by appearances at Milwaukee's
Summerfest, two nights at Detroit's DTE Energy Music Amphitheater, both
the Ventura and Los Angeles County Fairs and Woodstock, New Brunswick's
Classic Rock Festival.
Creedence Clearwater Revisited also includes
lead singer/rhythm guitar player John Tristao (who initially rose to prominence
as lead singer for the band People when their hit "I Love You" bulleted
into the Top Ten), lead guitarist Tal Morris (whom Huey Lewis describes
as "the quintessential Bay Area guitar prodigy") and multi instrumentalist
Steve Gunner. As Cook puts it, "Steve Gunner provides live all the overdubs
that were on the records - keyboard, acoustic guitar, percussion, harmonica
and he sings the high harmonies."[see full story for dates]-

Babyshambles
B-Sides |
PR reports: On August 1st, Rough Trade introduces
America to the other side of Babyshambles, the band led by reigning l'enfant
terrible, Peter Doherty. Not one of the band's smash singles was released
in America, so we're bringing a brand new bunch of never-heard b-sides
to our virtual shores. For US fans who haven't witnessed the shambolic
beauty of Babyshambles' live gigs, the b-sides offer a fresh glimpse of
the talent behind the tabloid ink.
The nine b-sides will be available on iTunes
as part of a deluxe version of "Down in Albion" for no additional cost
and will also be available for sale individually. [see full story for more]-

Green
Matthews Band |
PR reports: Dave Matthews Band announced today
that it has arranged for NativeEnergy and Clean Air-Cool Planet to offset
100% of the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from all of its touring activities
since 1991. By offsetting the CO2 pollution that touring activities such
as transporting gear, powering stages and air travel generate, Dave Matthews
Band is taking a proactive role in fighting global warming and helping
Native America begin to restore sustainable homeland economies in balance
with the Earth.
This announcement comes at the beginning
of Dave Matthews Band 2006 summer tour, which kicked off on May 30th at
the UMB Bank Pavilion in Missouri and will end in their hometown of Charlottesville,
VA with a two-night stand on Sept. 22 & 23 at the grand opening of
John Paul Jones Arena. [see full story for more... does it offset human

Kenny
Olson's Flask |
PR reports: KENNY OLSON has played with some
of the biggest names in the music business. From the Twisted Brown Trucker
Band, Sheryl Crow, Metallica, Chaka Khan, Hank Williams Jr., Buddy Miles,
and Aerosmith to name a few. Kenny has also played in several Jimi Hendrix
tributes, which he considers to be some of his most important work. Now
with THE FLASK, Kenny hopes to achieve much the same success and take the
band to the great heights their musical influences have achieved. THE FLASK
is comprised of music veterans Brent Grunow on Lead Vocals, Shannon Boone
on Drums/Percussion and Jason Price on Bass. The music has been described
by Kenny as old-school rock n roll, with decided blues and R&B influences
on grooving up-tempo material and ballads alike. The group also has crafted
one epic, "Gold Rush", which features a four-minute guitar solo by Olson.
THE FLASK makes their musical debut with
"Shuck 'N Jive", "Holy Roller" and "Gold Rush" - now available digitally
for the first time at all major digital download sites. Look for the release
of the album Match In The Gas Tank mixed by the legendary EDDIE KRAMER
(Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and Kiss) on Takes The Biscuit due out September
12, 2006.[see full story for more]- Click

Randy
Weeks Release At Last |
PR reports: Randy Weeks isn't what you'd call
a shameless self-promoter. In fact, he'd so much rather write songs and
go on the road performing them that he more or less forgot to release his
new album, Sugarfinger. Finally, friends in the business reminded him that
he needed to release the album if only to give birth to one of the finest
potential summer radio hits since The Beach Boys or the Raspberries. "You
know, you're right, I should really get that out," he conceded. And with
that, Sugarfinger, featuring the hit track "Transistor Radio," will see
the light of day on August 22, 2006.
"Transistor Radio," which can be streamed
at http://www.myspace.com/randyweeks, has enjoyed months of airplay on
tastemaking Los Angeles NPR station KCRW-FM, embellished by plays on Indie
103.1 FM's "Watusi Rodeo" program. Most listeners and even the radio
programmers themselves assumed the album was out by now. And it's true,
Weeks sold a few out of the back of his truck at gigs. But no, no official
release til now. [see full story for more]- Click
