CMJ reports: With a new studio album in the
works, Ween has announced a smattering of tour dates slated for July and
early August. The Ween boys, Gene and Dean, have holed themselves up in
a 200-year-old barn in Pennsylvania where they've been working on and recording
the still-untitled follow-up to 2003's Quebec. The album's release date
is also unknown, but Ween apparently have a number of songs in the works,
stating on their website: "The music sounds great and it feels good to
be back in our natural habitat�recording in a s***ty old farmhouse with
a leaky roof and a rodent/insect infestation. And black mold. This is the
most writing and recording we've done in many years and I can't wait for

TMZ reports: "Definitely Maybe," the debut
album by Oasis, has beaten the Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club
Band" in a British vote for the greatest album of all time, organizers
said Thursday.
The Beatles also took third place with
"Revolver" and had three other albums in the Top 100 in the vote staged
by British Hit Singles & Albums, an annual publication, and NME.com

Contact Music reports: TOM PETTY is reportedly
considering suing RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS over allegations they plagiarised
one of his songs. The band have been accused of lifting key aspects of
their latest single DANI CALIFORNIA from Petty's MARY JANE'S LAST DANCE,
most publicly by US DJ DAN GAFFNEY who said, "The chord progression, the
melody, the tempo, the key, the lyrical theme� they're identical." Sources
tell the New York Post Petty is in discussions with his lawyers about mounting

Blabbermouth reports: Twice THE BLACK CROWES
have recorded albums that were never officially released: "Tall" in 1993
and "Band" in 1997. While a few songs from these lost albums were re-recorded
and released on studio albums, many have emerged only through the band's
legendary live shows. THE BLACK CROWES recently went into the vault, collecting
the best moments from those abandoned sessions for a special treat for
their longtime fans. Titled "The Lost Crowes", it is a two-disc set of
unreleased music that has been remixed for its public debut on Rhino. The

Blabbermouth reports: TWISTED SISTER manager
Daniel Stanton of Coallier Entertainment has sent the following statement
to BLABBERMOUTH.NET: "TWISTED SISTER has signed with American record label
Razor & Tie for the purpose of releasing a final CD. The CD will be
a Christmas album of standards done in an all-heavy metal format. Due to
release date commitments, the band had to cancel several shows this summer,
including two in England on June 27th [London Hammersmith Apollo] and 28th
[Nottingham Rock City] and turn down four high-profile festivals in Europe.

ABORTED have posted the following message on their official web site:
"So, as a lot of you knew by now (sorry
for the lack of updates, busy busy!) we've recorded our upcoming live DVD,
'The Auricular Chronicles' [on May 28 at La Locomotive] in Paris. Thanks
to all those who attended the show and made it a party even at such late
hour on a Sunday! We shot this with OneoOne on 13 cams and the recordings
are off to Herr Tue Madsen himself for the mix. Expect this baby to be
out end of October!
