Idol
Sued |
MTV reports: The owners and creators of "American
Idol" are being sued by a fan who says the show stole his idea for a Web
game based on the singing competition. Adam Pick claims in a lawsuit filed
last week in Los Angeles Superior Court that he invented an interactive
fantasy game called "Idol Go Home," in which people could reverse the voting
process by picking who should get booted instead of who should win....
Pick claims show representatives said they weren't interested, but that
Pick could launch his own site. Once he did so, Pick says, "Idol" demanded
that he shut down the site, while at the same time, according to his lawsuit,
"Idol" modified its site to incorporate Pick's ideas. [see full story for

Fall
Out Boy Vs Kidz |
punkbands reports: Fall Out Boy's new beef
is with the producers of Kidz Bop 10, the latest in the mega-successful
series of albums featuring groups of youngsters "reinterpreting" the top
radio hits of the day. It all started last week when the track list for
KB 10 was posted on KidzBop.com and made the rounds on message boards.
The list included Fall Out Boy's "Dance, Dance" an odd choice, considering
the tune's overtly sexual lyrics (sample line: "I only want sympathy in
the form of you crawling into bed with me").[see full story for more]-

Suing Fans? |
tinfoil reports: MediaServices' AllofMP3.com
is a Russian site pointing out one of the ways a successful online music
market could be developed.
It prices downloads by file size rather
than a straight fee per item. But it's an indie so naturally, the Big Four
Organized Music members are trying to destroy it. And not content with
that, they now seem ready to sic their IFPI on British AllofMP3.com punters,
who can download an album for as little as £0.75 (about $1.40). Against
that, a download from iTunes, supplied by EMI, Warner Music, Vivendi Universal
and Sony BMG, can cost £9.79 (almost $18.20). As part of their latest
marketing innovation, the Big Four's IFPI (International Federation of
Phonographic Industry) is now threatening UK AllofMP3.com users, claiming
they're infringing copyright. [see full story for more]-
