Cray Band Live CD |
PR reports: The Robert Cray Band is famous
for touring more than six months out of every year. Yet in its 30+-year
career, there has never been a live album - until the imminent release
of The Robert Cray Band: Live From Across The Pond, that is. The two-CD
live set was recorded over the course of seven shows in May 2006 at London's
Royal Albert Hall while Cray was on tour with Eric Clapton.
Still on the road together in Europe (and
the only rockers to play Moscow's Red Square in 2006), the Cray Band will
tour with Clapton in the U.S. once again on the heels of the live album's
September 12 release.[see full story for more]- Click

Who
Needs Gene? |
PR reports: The Upraw, the all-girl band created
in the wake of Gene Simmons' Channel 4 reality show 'Rock School', are
set to release their first single on Broeknrule Records[sic]. The single,
"Make My Way", is released on 1st August available on all major download
platforms, including iTunes and Napstar. The first of three singles for
the band, they also have an album of original material to follow and a
tour of the UK next month.
When Kiss's Gene Simmons headed a documentary
to put together a rock band comprising of students from Kirkley High School
in Lowestoft, he unlocked a wealth of musical talent. Following the success
of previous Kirkley students The Darkness, auditions for a place in the
band was a heated and competitive process. Though the selected five, Hoax
UK, landed the prize of supporting Judas Priest and Anthrax in LA, two
members - guitarist Samanie Warren and bassist Linde Rose - broke away
to team up again with three other musicians who had been in the running.
The Upraw was born. [see full story to listen to the song] -

80s
Queen DVD |
PR reports: In the 1980s Queen became the
confident, mature yet still challenging band they'd always threatened to
be. Unlike many groups who'd broken through in the early 1970s, Queen were
unaffected by the onslaught of punk; they were neither old wave nor new
wave, they were just Queen. Queen - Under Review 1980-1991 features live
and studio performances by the group, rare interviews and a host of other
features all interspersed with the independent review and criticism from
a panel of esteemed experts. These include; broadcaster, journalist and
long term friend of Freddie Mercury, Paul Gambaccini; music author and
Classic Rock Magazine journalist, Malcolm Dome and many others. In stores
August 29, 2006. [see full story for more]- Click

Ben
Connelly Release |
PR reports: Minneapolis-based singer-songwriter
Ben Connelly is set to release his new album, "Over You," on September
12th. Coming out on his own AD/CD label, the record will receive Twin Cities
brick and mortar distribution, as well as being available via internet
mail order and digital distribution portals such as iTunes and Rhapsody.
The songs on "Over You" tell stories about love and death, little lights
in the night, the raw ache of heartbreak, and what's beyond the stars,
all in Connelly's sometimes funny, always touching lyrical twists and turns.
Accompanied by drummer Peter Anderson,
Connelly's vocals and finger-style guitar are joined by Mark Mallman and
Joanna James (backing vocals), and Brian O'Neill (pedal steel). Connelly
also plays piano, organ, bass, and cello, creating a tantalizing folk-rock-tin
pan alley blend. Pal Jason Keillor handled the recording gear. The result
is a satisfying amalgam of singer-songwriter storytelling, biting humor,
cynicism, and hope.[see full story for more]- Click
