Casualties Under Attack

PR reports: Veteran New York City street punks The Casualties have been outspoken believers in right and wrong, and their latest full-length, UNDER ATTACK, due Aug. 22 on SideOneDummy Records, tackles topical subject matter with a fury and frenzy that only a true punk band can. This mix of social commentary and hardcore punk rock has and continues to be demonstrated on the main stage at the Vans Warped Tour all summer long. They will be doing a 9-day run up-and-down the West Coast, kicking off in Fresno on Aug. 18. Soulfly Tour

Blabbermouth reports: SOULFLY has scheduled a number of dates for a fall U.S. tour, with many more to be announced to fill in the gaps. After SOULFLY plays the 10th annual D-Low Memorial Festival on August 17 with quite of few special guests, they'll be gearing up to destroy the ears of North American metal fans beginning in the middle of September. FULL BLOWN CHAOS and INCITE will open the entire tour. WICKED WISDOM will provide support on the first portion of the trek and SCARS OF TOMORROW will take over their spot at the start of October. "Due to obligations towards a new job as head chef in a steakhouse restaurant, our drummer, Marius [Karlsen], has decided to leave GRIFFIN. There's simply no time left for rehearsals for him. Ignite Bleeding on Video

PR reports: "Bleeding" is the first video from IGNITE's new album "Our Darkest Days" that was released on Century Media Records in Europe May 15th, 2006. IGNITE who have been crafting some of the most definitive melodic west coast hardcore over the past decade are also known for their no holds barred social and politically engaging lyrics. This song and video is no different as the subject deals with the Iraq occupation by the U.S. As bassist Brett Rasmussen explains, it is about "the lies our Government told us to get us into a war without taking the rest of the world's consideration into it." Vocalist Zoli Teglas who wrote the lyrics has a younger brother currently stationed in Iraq where as he explains "he is forced to risk his life driving Halliburton execs to meetings that benefit the politicians and not the people."

Golem F.O.B.

PR reports: Golem is a 6 piece Eastern European folk-punk band whose sound might best be described as where Eastern Europe meets NYC's Lower East Side. They've paired with JDub Records (Matisyahu, Balkan Beat Box) and producer Emery Dobyns (Patti Smith, Antony and the Johnsons, the Battles) to create Fresh Off Boat, an album in which contributions from Amanda Palmer (Dresden Dolls), Mike Gordon (Phish), and Lenny Kaye (Patti Smith Group) meld seamlessly into reworked Jewish, Gypsy, and Slavic folk songs. Digital Anthology

CMJ reports: October 5 will mark the launch of Anthology Recordings' all-digital reissue label, which it calls the "first ever" of its kind. Anthology's website will provide buyers with the ability to download full albums, individual songs (each costs 98 cents) and original album art. Their first releases include albums from Swedish psych band Pärson Sound, unreleased New York post-punkers China Shop and the Minneapolis punks Suicide Commandos.
