Gigwise reports: My Morning Jacket have revealed the first details for their forthcoming live albums and DVD.

Entitled 'Okonkos: Double Live Album' the CD portion will arrive in America on September 26 with the DVD following a month later on October 31. Expect UK release dates to be one day earlier but nothing has been confirmed as yet.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Sparta Tracks

PR reports: Hollywood recording artists Sparta are gearing up for the October 10 release of THREES, the much-anticipated new album featuring lead single "Taking Back Control." On July 12, the band will debut the single, which is also featured in the new Madden 07 video game from EA Sports, with an exclusive 24-hour stream on their MySpace page (see full story link)

Blind Faith Debut DVD

PR reports: Blind Faith's debut gig was in front of a cool 100,000 people on a warm day in Hyde Park. Since June 7th, 1969, when this concert took place, footage shot that afternoon has never been seen in its entirety. On September 19th the entire concert will be released on DVD for the very first time. Hyde Park 1969 is the only Blind Faith DVD available on the market.

Fusing the psychedelic blues of Eric Clapton and the soulful vocals and keyboards of Steve Winwood, with Rick Grech on bass and the phenomenal Ginger Baker on drums, fans at that historic performance were treated to a selection of timeless tracks including "Presence of the Lord," "Can't Find My Way Home" and The Rolling Stones' classic "Under My Thumb."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

When Kittens Attack

Blabbermouth reports: Tiamat frontman Johan Edlund, who is currently residing in Thessaloniki, Greece with his girlfriend Joanna, posted the following message on his official MySpace profile earlier today (Tuesday, July 11):

"Last night I was enjoying a few cocktails together with my girlfriend and a friend from Russia. When I walked home alone around three o'clock in the morning, I passed a little band of very young kittens. Two of them were black and there was a very cute white one with brown and grey spots. I'd guess they were about ten weeks old and I wanted to take them home but they were too afraid to get close to�..All of a sudden a car stopped in front of me and two men of my own (ripe) age stepped out. One of them stayed by the car but the second guy shouted something at me which I couldn't understand. He walked up to me and pushed me on my shoulder while repeating his words which were all Greek to me. Then everything happened very fast. I pushed him and then there's hitting, pulling and pushing and rumbling, probably for less that half a minute and then I felt a much harder hit against my face as if hit by something more than a bare fist and I tried to get out of it while making sure my camera was still with me. Toni Stranius RIP

Blabbermouth reports: Former XYSMA guitar player Toni Stranius (a.k.a. Minister Stranus), who played with the band from 1991 until 1998, reportedly passed away on July 7, 2006. He was 34 years old. No further details are currently available.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Ween's Shinola

PR reports: MVD Audio and Ween are pleased to announce Ween - Shinola Vol. 1 for US distribution on CD September 19, 2006.

Originally released by Ween's own Chocodog label, Shinola Vol. 1 is the first in a series of rarities collections by the ever-wacky Pennsylvania-based duo. Here Dean and Gene Ween's giddy, genre-hopping sound careens from distorted lo-fi ditties (the bizarre "Tastes Good on th' Bun") to surprisingly straightforward pop/rock tunes (the blatantly Elvis Costello-like "Gabrielle"). PR reports: Less than a year after VH1 Classic debuted "Decades Rock Live!", the network breaks new ground with the first-ever DVD/CD release from the innovative concert series. VH1 Classic Decades Rock Live! Presents Bonnie Raitt and Friends Featuring Norah Jones, Ben Harper, Alison Krauss and Keb'Mo' will be released by Capitol Records on August 15th. Scum of the Earth Soph

PR reports: Scum of the Earth, featuring x-Rob Zombie guitarist RIGGS have begun pre-production on their follow-up to the successful debut album, "Blah...Blah...Blah... Love Songs for the New Millennium". The new album is planned to be released by Eclipse Records in late 2006. Mushroomhead Set Date

PR reports: Megaforce Records has announced the new Mushroomhead album Savior Sorrow will be released on September 19, 2006. It was produced by Steve Felton and Mushroomhead at Cleveland's Filthy Hands Studios in April 2006. 

The visionary masked band combines theatrics with a mixture of rock, metal and atmospheric elements. The first single will hit radio in mid-August. The band will begin a world tour starting September 12, 2006.

Hagar Livin It Up

PR reports: Sammy Hagar's new studio album - Livin' It Up, in stores July 25th!

Pixies DVD Tracks

PR reports: Eagle Rock Entertainment, through its wholly-owned Eagle Vision imprint, announces the August 22 release of Live In Newport by arguably the most influential American band of the last 20 years -- the Pixies. A bonus 21-minute mini-documentary of the Pixies rehearsing and deconstructing some of their favorite originals (including "Debaser" which didn't make the final set list) is included. And, like previous films spotlighting the Newport Folk Festival, the experience was captured on film by director Michael B Borofsky, rather than with digital or high definition video.

RIAA Outta Sync

DiR reports: A Little bit of a follow up about a story from a couple days ago about the Top 10 songs to Lip-sync to. Bolt sent us an explanation about how the list came about. 

A few weeks ago a couple of people at bolt made this video, called "Do Not Disconnect" - (http://www.bolt.com/bolt/video/1347477) - it's a satire aimed at the RIAA's ineffectual attempts to thwart people from doing web karaoke. 

The RIAA recently targeted YouTube for hosting certain music videos. If/when they turn their sights to Bolt, we'll oblige their requests to remove any unlicensed content, but we'll replace it with our version of the story! Check out our reply to NBC's recent cease and desist letter which required Bolt to remove "Lazy Sunday" and was promptly replaced with Hazy Monday [see full story for that]
