KNAC reports: Roadrunner Records has issued
the following Stone Sour update from guitarist Josh Rand:
...two weeks into the recording of the
drums Joel (Ekman) would have to leave the project and return home to his
family. His nine-year-old son is very sick. He was diagnosed with Brain
Stem Glioma (brain cancer) last fall. With the fate of the record now up
in the air a decision had to be made: postpone the record or bring in someone
to finish the drum tracks. So with Joel's blessing, Roy Mayorga (ex-SOULFLY)
will finish the drum tracks as we move forward.[see full story for more]-

TMZ reports: TMZ reviewed court transcripts
from a hearing last June. Jackson's lawyer, Thomas Hall, told Judge Stephen
Lachs, "Mr. Jackson was under an agreement with Petitioner (Rowe) here,
which he was to pay her -- did pay her about four or five million dollars
up front, gave her a mansion in Beverly Hills, and then was to pay $900,000
a year for a number of years if she abided by agreement terms."
Jackson stopped paying Rowe her annual
stipend after claiming she violated their confidentiality agreement by
publically speaking about him. The dispute is ongoing.[see full story for

Verve Forecast will release American Myth, from singer/songwriter extraordinaire
Jackie Greene. American Myth features Jackie Greene on vocals, guitars,
dobro, piano, harmonica, and percussion. He is also joined by an all-star
band comprised of Pete Thomas (drums, percussion, trash can), Davey Faragher
(vocals, bass), both of whom are members of Elvis Costello's longtime group,
The Imposters; and Val McCallum (vocals, guitars, banjo, slide guitar,
baritone). Steve Berlin also contributes with turns on mellotron, vibes,

Press Release reports: Over 420 Australian
and New Zealand artists applied for the crucial showcase side of SxSW,
of which 54 were invited. There are currently 23 Australian artists showcasing
(several had to drop out due to recording or touring commitments, personal
reasons or funding shortfalls), and there are 10 New Zealand bands also
playing.
The 34 bands playing in 2006 is an almost
eightfold increase from the five that appeared in 2002. The 200+ OZ &
NZ registrants in addition to artists will be over eight times the 25 attending
in 2002.

today they will tour the U.S. prior to the release of their upcoming Warner

2006. This House of Blues presented tour hits smaller venues, which highlights
