Killer
Vs Kanye |
Contact music reports: THE KILLERS frontman
BRANDON FLOWERS has slammed KANYE WEST, declaring the rapper's inflated
ego "makes me ill". "I wanted to love him so much when he first came out.
He has this sweet voice, and there's a cuteness to it.
"And then you see him in interviews and
he's like a lion. It just ruined the whole package for me." [see full story

war between Britney Spears' body guards and the paparazzi in Malibu today.
Britney's guards have been swarming the Malibu County Mart, site of the
Malibu Starbucks which is popular with celebs, all day Friday, filming
the paparrazzi. The guards have allegedly been driving Kevin's black Audi,
at times, switching cars to what appears to be Britney's Escalade.
According to our source, an altercation
has occurred between a paparazzo named "Agnon" and one of Brit's guards.
Agnon claims that at one point Friday Brit's guards tried to force him
off of the road.[see full story for more]- Click

Mother
Hips Recording |
Cornerstone reports: 2005's Red Tandy EP (Camera)
provided a warm welcome return for Bay Area's Mother Hips from a four year
recording hiatus. The band begins work on their sixth studio record on
February 10, 2006 in San Francisco, CA. The Red Tandy EP and 7-inch release
garnered critical praise, and was embraced by a handful of influential
radio stations including KCRW and WXPN. The band continues its creative
momentum and will record a batch of freshly-written material adding a more
mature approach to the existing Mother Hips patented California soul sound.
The record will be co-produced by The Mother Hips and Dylan Magierek (Mark
Kozelek, Erlend Oye, Call and Response) and is tentatively scheduled for
a Fall 2006 release on New York City based Camera Records. [see full story

Prog
Locomotive |
Kayos reports: There's no stopping the multi-genre
Locomotive Records. On February 21, 2006, the Spanish indie will release
two major Rock Statements.
When multi-instrumentalist composer Wieland
Hofmeister, producer/singer Anca Graterol and producer/keyboardist/guitarist/drummer
Osssy Pfeiffer came to Threshold frontman Andrew "Mac" McDermott with the
idea for a straight-up Progressive Rock project, Mac didn't take much convincing.
It was something he had been wanting to do for a very long time. The result
is To Be Or Not To Be by Yargos.
Perception of Fear is the newest offering
from Siegen, Germany's Sencirow. The level of sophistication and maturity
exhibited by these metalers since their 1999 self-produced Dreamspace demo
is plainly evident. Combining the hard with the heavy, lacing the futuristic
with a roots-reverence for their Iron Maiden heroes (they once sat up close
at a Maiden show and showered Nico McBrain with their demo!), Sencirow
combines a Prog-Rock vibe with innovative traditional metal to achieve
a sound like no other. [see full story for more]- Click
