Brother Records Inc. filed the lawsuit last January, seeking $20 million in damages from two men who allegedly stole a treasure trove of band memorabilia from a North Hollywood warehouse. The band claimed that Allan Gaba, owner of the warehouse, and his friend Roy Sciacca, pilfered such items as Brian Wilson and Mike Love's contract for the song, "Do It Again," photos of the band with George Harrison, and original music compositions.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Are Black Stone Cherry Next? |
A young band made up of Kentucky natives Chris Robertson (guitars/lead vocals), Ben Wells (guitars/backing vocals), Jon Lawhon (bass/backing vocals) and John Fred Young (drums/backing vocals), Black Stone Cherry is currently touring the U.S. as direct support to labelmate Zakk Wylde's band, Black Label Society. At the conclusion of the tour in Los Angeles on December 8th, the band is set to pick up a tour with Hinder beginning December 13th, continuing their ongoing life on the road. During the PLUG Awards show, Stephen Malkmus will accept the 2007 PLUG Impact Award. This honor celebrates Malkmus's influence on independent music through his exceptional work in Pavement, Silver Jews and his prolific career as a solo artist. In 2005, The Flaming Lips received the PLUG Impact Award. Performing in Malkmus's current band, The Jicks, is Sleater-Kinney drummer, Janet Weiss. Last year, Sleater-Kinney received five nominations and won the PLUG Award for Punk Album of the Year. Contestants will need to submit a video performance to participate and judging for all qualified submitted performances will open up on January 8, 2007. The contest exists to serve the talent industry, the artists themselves, and the fans voting for who's worthy of being called the best. The audience truly decides who rises to the top, democratizing the talent industry - for the people, by the people. The final five contestants from each Stage will be flown on location in Austin, TX to compete in a live show during SXSW the week of March 12, 2007.
