Beer! |
PR reports: Every once in a while, a band
comes along and starts a musical revolution. Whether Psychostick is one
of those bands or not is a subject of debate, but one thing is for sure:
they probably couldn't care less either way.
Coming straight out of Phoenix, and glad
to get out of the heat, Psychostick is a self-proclaimed "humor-core" band,
successfully blending a combination of heavier genres such as metal and
hardcore with an off-the-wall sense of humor. Their highly energetic and
entertaining live show made them a local legend. They self-released their
first full length album "We Couldn't Think of a Title," which gained them
national exposure on XM Radio's Squizz 48, and landed them a record deal
with Rock Ridge Music, who will release the album nationally September
12, 2006. [Grab some Beer at the full story link]

Randolph Colorblind |
PR reports: Petal Steel superstar Robert Randolph
is back with new release Colorblind hitting stores on September 25th. You
can also catch Randolph's first single "The Thrill of It" featured every
Saturday during football season on ABC's College Football Saturday's beginning
on September 9th
With Colorblind, Robert Randolph and the
Family Band have taken the difficult leap from being great performing artists
to being great recording artists. Since emerging from a House of God church
in Orange, New Jersey steeped in the "sacred steel" tradition, Randolph's
astonishing pedal steel playing has had a revolutionary impact. The big
step this time around was the decision to collaborate with other songwriters,
including Tommy Sims (who has written songs with Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt,
and Garth Brooks), Jeff Trott (Sheryl Crow), Mark Batson (Dave Matthews
Band, Gwen Stefani), and the team of Drew Ramsey and Shannon Sanders (India.Arie,
Heather Hedley). [check out the full story link for a preview]

Wax
On Radio Debut |
PR reports: Wax On Radio, a four-piece coming
from the city of Chicago mixes catchy songwriting, intelligently evocative
lyrics and an overall engaging style. The music is sonically spacious and
beautifully composed in the vain of Pink Floyd or Yes. Wax On Radio has
also been compared to the prog rockers Coheed & Cambria, along with
the sounds of Mars Volta, Bright Eyes, Muse and the latter day King Crimson.
Wax On Radio performs the trick of sounding both progressive and nostalgic.
Wax on Radio is set to release their debut album Exposition on Downtown
Records, the home of Art Brut, Gnarls Barkley and Eagles of Death Metal.
The debut album is set for a September 12th release. [When in Rome, click
