Silly
News: Elvis Teddy Killed |
BBC reports: A £40,000 teddy which used
to belong to Elvis Presley was among scores of toy bears destroyed when
a dog meant to guard them went on the rampage.
Dobermann Barney was looking after the
rare Steiff bear, named Mabel, which had been loaned for an exhibition
at Wookey Hole Caves near Wells, Somerset.
The dog ripped the head off the bear and
attacked scores of other teddies. Barney's owner could only suggest that
the bear had a rogue scent on it - or that Barney had become jealous of
it. - Click

Code
of Honor Reissued |
PR reports: Along with other early melodic
punk bands JFA, Minor Threat and The Big Boys, San Francisco's Code of
Honor is considered to be one of the founders of a movement dubbed "skate
punk.". In light of the continued interest in the legendary Bay Area skate-punk
band -- as well as the recent resurgence of early-80's melodic hardcore
within the online "blogging" community -- the quartet and its original
label Subterranean Records is reissuing its full discography. The 25-song
disc titled Complete Studio Recordings 1982-1984 collects all of the band's
tracks from landmark releases like the 1984 album Beware the Savage Jaw
and the lauded collector's item split LP with Sick Pleasure (a band that
featured members of Code of Honor.) - Click

PR reports: An official statement issued today
by Magic Circle Management, announced that the promoters of The Gods Of
Metal have reported that, due to financial constraints placed upon their
company, the festival may not take place in 2007.

G.Love? |
PR reports: Tart, Tangy, Smooth, and oh so
lip-smacking Sweet! Aaah yes, time to praise the almighty summer sippin'
thirst quencher, being served straight up G. Love style, ice cool and always
refreshing. On his second release for Brushfire Records, the Philly boy
offers up Lemonade, a series of soul drenched tracks pouring out blues
infused hip-hop, which people have been trying to label for years. The
best advice.don't try to tame it or claim it; it's simply his sonic trademark,
instantly recognizable and addictively delicious. Seven albums, thirteen
years, and a million worldwide units later, Lemonade is the most cohesive
and rewarding album Garrett Dutton - a.k.a. G. Love has ever delivered.

Who
Doesn't Love Virgins? |
PR reports: The instrument swapping indie
rock trio Gliss returns to the U.S. with their debut full-length album
inspired by their time on the road with Billy Corgan, Editors and more.
After putting the finishing touches on their debut full- length album,
Love The Virgins, Gliss has decided to push back the release date to October
24, 2006
The band has enjoyed great success in LA
for some time, but the new tracks have introduced a new side of the band.
The fuzzed up riffs and hypnotic vocals that defined the band's previous
releases remain, but Gliss kicks it up a notch, moving past the trance-like
electronic elements for a more aggressive sound that is more fitting for
the arenas they have been playing in.- Click
