The Gauntlet reports: Cleveland, Ohio's CHIMAIRA have officially parted ways with Roadrunner Records. The group have issued the following statement on the matter:

Abdul Lied?

Contact Music reports: LATEST: AMERICAN IDOL judge PAULA ABDUL has been accused of fabricating claims she was attacked at a private party earlier this month (02APR06). The former pop singer, who was enjoying a night out at Los Angeles hotspot Xenii, alleged JIM LEFKOWITZ "grabbed her by the arm and threw her against a wall", according to Los Angeles police spokeswoman APRIL HARDING. Alicia Nanny Keys

Ananova reports: Alicia Keys has joined the cast of The Nanny Diaries.

According to Variety the film stars Scarlett Johansson as a working-class woman from New Jersey who becomes a nanny to a wealthy Manhattan family.

Wedding Present Release

Hello Wendy reports: The Wedding Present's new release Search For Paradise will be released in North America via Manifesto Records. The collection features the three singles from last year's critically acclaimed Take Fountain album, plus all the B-sides, previously unreleased acoustic versions of the A-sides and a track remixed by the German pop group, Klee. Babyface Vs Anita

TMZ reports: Kenny Edmonds, aka Babyface, has sued singer Anita Baker for allegedly failing to pay him for a song he produced for her.

In the lawsuit, filed Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Babyface claims that Baker refused to pay him producer's fees and royalties for the song, 'Like You Used to Do,' which he produced and Baker recorded. Babyface claims he also co-wrote the song with Baker. Capitol reports: Capitol recording artist Van Hunt's On The Jungle Floor, which was released April 4th, has debuted at #1 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart. The acclaimed singer-songwriter, who is currently on the road with Anthony Hamilton, will perform "Being A Girl," the album's second single, on "Late Show With David Letterman" on Tuesday, May 9th.

Adrenaline PR reports: Norma Jean are currently in Radio Star Studios in Weed, CA recording their new album with Ross Robinson (Slipknot, Glassjaw, At the Drive In, From First to Last, The Cure, ETC.) After the success of NJ's latest album, released just last year, "O God the Aftermath," scanning more than 90,000 units; the band is now working on their next masterpiece for Solid State. Norma Jean started recording their new album beginning on April 7th and hope to wrap it up by the end of May. Catholic Rock

Press Release reports: The Catholic Rock band Rise has just released their latest CD, "Stand the Line," which contains a heartfelt song entitled "Cancer's Creation." This emotional song was written by lead singer Steve Rogers after his year-long battle with cancer and is already helping to provide strength, comfort and encouragement to those facing the same battle.

Rise is a Catholic rock band from Southern California founded in 2000, the year that two band members were welcomed into the Catholic Church. A unique blend of 80's big hair band rockers, now a cop, a general contractor, a sales manager and a CEO of a tech company.
