siN's metal news reports: Germany's CALIBAN have posted the following message on their official website:

"The preproduction turned out great and today we started to record our new album, this time in germany, near münster at the principal studios. The record will be produced by Anders Friden (IN FLAMES) and mixed by Andy Sneap (MACHINE HEAD, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, ARCH ENEMY), just like last time.

Sirius Video?

FMQB reports: Sirius Satellite Radio is reportedly on track to deliver a satellite video service by mid-2006. Sirius is running field tests now and they are "all going according to plan," according to Sirius' Retail Operations SVP Bob Law. Receivers for the video service may work as combination audio/video tuners that are designed to be compatible with after-market video screens and DVD players, and the price point is expected to be reasonable. Sex, Fashion & Money

conqueroo reports: The Grabs have completed their debut album, Sex, Fashion & Money, which will hit the streets on November 8. The band is a side project for its members: indie singer/songwriter Eleni Mandell, guitarist Steven Gregoropolous (Wild Stares, W.A.C.O., Lavender Diamond), bassist Nigel Harrison (Blondie) and drummer Elvira Gonzalez � even an audio sample from Chairman Mao Tse-Tung. Mandell calls the quartet "the side-project rock band of my childhood dreams."

The album was produced and recorded in six days by Sheldon Gomberg (Warren Zevon, Beck, Ryan Adams) at his Los Angeles-based studio. Burnside Distribution will distribute the CD.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Escape From Earth Win Coke

Press Release reports: Chicago-based rock band Escape From Earth announces they are the grand-prize winners of the MTV/Coca-Cola Make It Real Contest. Nearly 5,000 bands from across the nation entered the contest, which began with MTV and Coca-Cola searching for the most devoted and talented un-signed musical artists in the country. Entry guidelines included writing a 500-word essay about the band and then submitting music for judging. Escape From Earth was unanimously chosen as the winner of the contest.

As contest winners, Escape From Earth will star in a commercial for Coca-Cola that will begin airing on MTV on Thursday, October 6, 2005, during the season two premiere of Making The Band 3. The commercial will feature Escape From Earth performing their song "Without" and will air over 100 times during a two and a half week period. Shaver Weds

conqueroo reports: Billy Joe Shaver wed Wanda Lynn Canady on Monday, September 26, 2005, in Corsicana, Texas. Shaver's uncle, Rev. Bill Honea, performed the private ceremony.

Country music legend Shaver released his latest album, The Real Deal (Compadre Records), this past Tuesday, September 20, and currently sits in the R&R Americana Music Top 10. Named Texas State Musician in 2005, Shaver has recently appeared on "60 Minutes," NPR's "Fresh Air" and NPR's "Studio 360."
