Van
Halen Deny Reality |
KNAC reports: Van Halen will not be taking
INXS' lead by participating in a possible second season of the reality
television series Rock Star, according to the band's spokesperson. MTV
News erroneously reported Wednesday that a source close to the program
claimed that if Rock Star does return for a second season, that the core
Van Halen trio Michael Anthony and brothers Alex and Eddie Van Halen
would be the band auditioning potential singers.[see full story for more]-

Madonna
Vs Jews II |
Gigwise reports: Madonna has hit back at the
Jewish Mystics who accused her of blasphemy on her new album.
As previously reported on Gigwise a group
of Rabbis in Israel had blasted old Madge for writing the song Isaac'
about a 16th century Jewish mystic called Yitzhak Luria.
They said she would be "punished" in heaven
but Madonna now says that she's never heard of Luria. She told MTV: "What
are you going to do? The absurd thing is that it's not what they think
it is. It's not a song about Isaac Luria." [see full story for more]-

Dimebag
Murder Motive Questioned |
MTV reports: The Columbus, Ohio, detectives
investigating the slaying of Damageplan guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott
may never learn what inspired Nathan Gale's murderous rampage on December
8, 2004
But according to a report in The Columbus
Dispatch, after months of working on the case and 287 eyewitness interviews,
investigators have dismissed one common theory: that the shootings were
motivated by the breakup of Pantera, Abbott's former band, or a public
dispute between Abbott and Pantera lead singer Phil Anselmo. [see full

Blink
Split Explained |
punkbands reports: Tom Delonge recently explained
the reasoning behind the band's unexplained indefinite hiatus in an interview
with Kerrang. According to the story, the problems started with Tom's formation
of Box Car Racer: Mark took it extremely hard. I had no intention to ever
make Box Car a priority over Blink, but it really hurt him. [,,,] I didn't
understand.
Travis and I couldn't talk to Mark anymore
- we weren't the friends we were. The other thing was I was getting so
much s*** from Mark about Box Car, but then when we were on that last tour,
Mark and Travis had already put together Plus-44. I didn't even know about
it until it got printed in a magazine.[see full story for more]-

KISS
Protest |
BW&BK reports: Plans for a protest rally
at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame continue after fans of the iconic rock
group KISS received a letter from Hall Of Fame president Terry Stewart.
"Unacceptable!" says Joe Apple, who initiated
contact with the Hall by requesting an explanation for KISS's absence on
the ballot for Hall Of Fame induction. Apple is not only a fan, but the
chair of the rally planned for August 5, 2006 at the Rock and Roll Hall
of Fame Museum in Cleveland, Ohio.
"They really missed the point," agrees
rally co-chair Paul Carpenter. Among other things, Stewart told us that
candidates are reviewed and discussed relative to their impact on this
music that we broadly call rock and roll.'
What the Hall establishment fails to acknowledge
is not just KISS' impact on music, but on rock and roll itself. KISS not
only created a musical spectacle, but a culture. For much of the world,
the word KISS' is synonymous with the phrase rock and roll.' KISS reset
the bar for other artists when they stormed into the 70s. Three decades
later, their influence on show business is everywhere."[see full story
