New
Found Maturity? Not |
punkbands reports: New Found Glory guitarist
Chad Gilbert wants to clear something up: Despite what he's said in recent
interviews, the upcoming NFG album will not mark some sort of mature departure
for the band. He just got a little carried away with himself. "When I was
talking about the Decemberists and bands like that being influences, I
meant that they were influences on me," he said.
"There are four other people in this band,
too, and their influences are going to be heard on the record just as much
as mine. So if I said our new album was going to be more mature, I meant
that each of us is getting more mature. Trust me the new album sounds
like a New Found Glory album. It sounds like the best album we've ever
made."[see full story for more]- Click

Silverstein
Records |
Victory Records reports: Shane Told, frontman
for Canada's Silverstein, has started Verona Records. "I've started a label
not as a business venture, or to gain anything for myself. I see amazingly
talented bands all over the world, and so many of them have no direction
on what to do on the business side of things. I've started this label to
guide these bands in the right direction, and help provide them with the
finances they need to really give themselves the best shot at playing music
full time."
The first signing is Dead and Divine, from
Told's hometown of Oakville, Ontario, and for those expecting them to sound
like Silverstein, think again. "This band is VERY metal, he says. And super
talented. I saw so much potential in these guys, that I asked them if I
could put out their record." Their debut release comes out November 29th.[see

reader submission reports: Classic rock/metal
band UFO has just released their first live DVD "Showtime" - over 30 years
after the release of their first album. Although original master guitarist
Michael Schenker is not currently in the band the CD shows the group in
excellent form with guitar ace Vinnie Moore, Jason Bonham on drums and
the original lineup of Phil Mogg on vocals, Pete way on Bass, and Paul
Raymond on keys. Don't let this one slip under the radar as UFO is one
of the greatest and still most under rated bands out there. The double

Out", "Rock Bottom," "Doctor Doctor," "Cherry" and many more soul fused
hard rock classics. - Click
