Rapper Murdered |
MTV reports: Politically charged Oakland,
California, rappers the Coup suffered a tragic loss Tuesday when one of
their hypemen was gunned down during a robbery attempt. Tarus Jackson,
36, who joined the group a year ago, was slain after he was confronted
by a pair of robbers outside his Northern California home. [see full story

Contact Music reports: KELLY OSBOURNE has
reportedly decided to turn her back on her music career because she doesn't
need anymore money after working throughout her teenage years.
The daughter of BLACK SABBATH rocker OZZY
starred in MTV reality TV show THE OSBOURNES and has since appeared in
TV drama LIFE AS WE KNOW IT and released two albums. [She may have made

has issued the following report from Jonathan Cohen: Although the track
list has yet to be announced, Geffen has set a December 20th release date
for the double-disc set Welcome To The Jungle - The Very Best Of GUNS N'
ROSES. It will be the second such GN'R package since the spring of 2004
and follows Greatest Hits, which has sold 2.5 million copies in the United

is about to live out his hoop dreams by joining the Inglewood Cobras ABA
basketball team. He will also become a part-owner in the franchise, a team
rep confirmed Thursday.
Cobras publicist Gabrielle Llewellyn says
the "Dreams" rapper will be very much involved with the franchise this
fall and beyond. She declined to offer up specifics, but a press conference

Reuters reports: Roger Waters delighted rock
fans when Pink Floyd played their first gig together for 24 years at July's
Live8. On Thursday he was hoping to win over classical fans with his first
opera, 16 years in the making.
The singer, bass player and songwriter
on classic albums like "Dark Side of the Moon" and "The Wall," said he
wanted his French Revolution opera "Ca Ira" to have the same impact at
its world premiere in Rome as his stadium-filling rock anthems.[see full

which was recorded by Rolling Stone magazine journalist JANN WENNER in
the aftermath of The Beatles' split, Lennon reveals he felt compelled to
choose between his wife and his bandmates - and he had no regrets about
his decision.
Lennon says in the interview, "It seemed
that I either had to be married to them or Yoko. I chose Yoko and I was
right.
"They despised her. They insulted her and

May Never Tour Again |
Gigwise reports: The Vines may never tour
in the traditional manner again the manager of the band Andy Kelly has
revealed.
The news was posted on Vines fan site Dream
In The Insane, with Walker saying that Craig Nichols isn't up to the usual
touring and press commitments bands go through after the release of a new
album.
Kelly said: "After everything they have
been through I hope that people will be understanding enough to recognize
that Craig just can't operate in the traditional record/press/tour cycle
