Teen Porn Bust |
Blabbermouth reports: Shannon Colavecchio-Van
Sickler of the St. Petersburg Times has issued the following report: The
case against Leon R. Whitman started early Sunday, when a Tampa police
officer on patrol near the Wyndham Westshore Hotel encountered a distraught
16-year-old who said she had just been pressured into having sex with Whitman.
By Monday, police were working with FBI
investigators to determine whether Whitman, a 47-year-old bus driver for
a heavy metal band, had victimized other girls. They say more than 200
images seized from Whitman's digital camera suggest he did...For now, Whitman
is charged with three counts of pornography and two counts of unlawful
sexual activity with the 16-year-old girl.[see full story for more]-

Vibes |
Hecklerspray reports: Saturday night saw the
Vibe music awards take place, and we have both good news and bad news for

ceremony. Bad news: Mariah Carey won a load of stuff.

Year, R&B Song, R&B Voice Of The Year and R&B Album. And still
the most insightful thing she could manage to say was "Whatever you're
going through in life, don't ever give up." [see full story for more]-

Reunion |
Melodic Rock reports: From Hitsdailydouble.com:
"It's been a rumor for quite some time, but sources tell us that there
will be a reunion of The Cars next year, led by the band's guitarist Elliot
Easton and newcomer Todd Rundgren (who we've heard of somewhere or other
before). The reunited band is currently in the studio recording new tracks.
No word yet on who else is in the band or of tour plans. It's expected
that singer-guitarist-songwriter Ric Ocasek will not be part of the reunion.[Maybe

Special: Children 18:3 |
antiMusic reports: For this second installment
in the Hensch's Hometown Heroes special, Mark discusses Christian pop punkers
Children 18:3.
Children 18:3's Places I Don't Want
to Go was one of those rare surprises reviewers like me receive. The
plot is simple; one day I was going over my extracurricular activities
(or lack there of) with my school counselor, and talk turned about my column
here at antiMusic. Upon finding out that I'd review pretty much any demos
sent my way, my counselor put me in contact with her relatives, the band
Children18:3.
This energetic three-piece Christian pop
punk act surprised me with their devotion to craft, their catchy songs,
their feel-good vibes. I grew very tired with the bloated pop-rock/punk
genre quite some time ago, so I was a tad leery of listening to children
18:3 as they could very well have simply been carbon clones of a zillion
other bands.
Thankfully for me, as well as potential
listeners, it is apparent after only a song or two that children 18:3 has
got a few fresh ideas to them. [see the full story link for the full review
