Durst
For Idiots |
Rockdirt reports: In a posting on Tuesday,
Limp Bizit frontman Fred Durst posed question 2 to the band's fans. "I
would like to ask you all to familiarize yourselves with the concept of
FLASH MOBS," Durst writes. "If you already know everything you need to
know about them could you enlighten your friends and allies? Timing is
everything in almost everything. I will be posting pieces of information
about our new album in little bits more often these days and they may not
make any sense, but we don't care. This is intentional. There will be song
titles and other things in every post i make, including this one. The key
is to pay attention. This way we can weed out the idiots who could care
less. We don't make records for them anymore."[see full story for more]-

Fun House |
MTV reports: Michael Jackson suffered a blow
in his child-molestation trial on Thursday (March 17) when a former housekeeper
testified that she had seen a number of children in an intoxicated state
at his Neverland Ranch.
Analysts have pointed out that proof of
underage drinking at Neverland would increase the likelihood of jurors
believing that the singer provided alcohol to minors with the intent to
molest them. His accuser claims Jackson gave him wine in a soda can and
called it "Jesus juice"[see full story for more]- Click

station ArrowFM got jacked. [ArrowFM had been a source for the Day in Rock

drone on the dial. We'll have to wait and hear how this one turns out.-

Lemmy
on His Grammy |
Blabbermouth reports: MOTÖRHEAD frontman
Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister spoke to Jon Bream of the Minneapolis Star Tribune
about winning his first Grammy after 30 years in the hard-rock wars.
"It's about bloody time," said Kilmister.
"Nobody deserves it more, although I'm too modest to say it."
Of course, the irony is that the trophy
for best heavy-metal performance isn't for MOTÖRHEAD's 21st and latest
CD, "Inferno", but for a METALLICA song ("Whiplash") that the British trio
recorded for a tribute CD. That's OK Kilmister isn't complaining.
"I don't mind it," said the singer-bassist,
"but it would mean more if it was one of our numbers."[see full story for

Big
Buzz For Big Machine |
Blabbermouth reports: AC/DC vocalist Brian
Johnson has co-written all of the material and handpicked the members of
a new Florida-based band called BIG MACHINE. The quintet has labels and
industry folk alike shuffling about trying to find out more about the group
performing the first new material written from the iconic frontman since
1988.
Looking to stretch his own musical muscles
a bit, Brian compiled in BIG MACHINE a band of monsters that would best
portray his classic songwriting style, and rip it a new ass on stage.
It all starts with a frontman that can
cast his own shadow so to speak along side the story that is BIG MACHINE.
That guy is former NEUROTICA/ATHEIST vocalist Kelly Shaefer. Shaefer was
also one of the final four vocalists chosen for the frontman spot in VELVET
REVOLVER.... The buzz on this band is so hot that its first live appearance,
on March 24 in South Florida, is sold out two weeks before the date of
the show.[see full story for more]- Click

Deaf
Symphony Release |
Deaf Symphony reports: Deaf Symphony, heavy
rock music project from Henderson, NV, has released their brand new album
"Black Garden". The CD contains 9 tracks of heavy rock with a unique sound,
centered around crunching guitar riffs with progressive melodic leads and
dark meaningful lyrics. The music has a tawny gothic metal feel, with the
hooks and riffs of hard rock and progressive metal. The lyrics have a dark,
but meaningful theme - part lessons learned, part fantasy, part introspective
mood, Matt Cerbin taps into a chamber of the soul that most ignore - but
need to explore, come to grips with, and embrace.[see full story for more]-

Aimee
Mann Concept |
Corner Stone reports: Aimee Mann songs have
a literary quality to them-sharp, spare short stories set to music-so it
was probably inevitable that she would one day make a concept album, the
musical equivalent of a novella.
The Forgotten Arm (SuperEgo), her fifth
solo release, is exactly that: a dozen songs that tell, rather loosely,
the story of John and Caroline as they meet, fall in love and road trip
across America.
Produced by singer-songwriter Joe Henry,
The Forgotten Arm is a departure for Mann in several ways, not least of
which that it was recorded over just five days last summer. [see full story
