Arrested |
NME reports: IAN BROWN has been arrested in
SAN FRANCISCO after an onstage bust-up with a member of the audience, NME.COM
can exclusively reveal.
The singer was playing at the Great American
Music Hall as part of a North American tour in support of his current album
Solarized when the alleged incident happened.
According to fans at the show, Brown was
complaining about the sound quality at the venue, and after three songs
got so upset he stopped the song.
One fan claimed: This guy in a white top
jumps onto the stage from the crowd, rugby tackles Ian Brown to the floor.
Everything stops and the band members run to the aid of their leader.
After the show he was arrested at his hotel and taken for questioning.

Rescue |
Blabbermouth reports: According to BoingBoing.net,
METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich has asked METALLICA's longtime attorney Peter
Paterno to try and defuse the situation between BEATALLICA the Milwaukee-based
parody band known for METALLICA-infused covers of BEATLES songs and Sony
Music. As previously reported, Sony Music accused BEATALLICA of violating
copyright laws, demanded that their webmaster pay "unspecified damages,"
and forced the band's ISP to shut down their web site.
Thanks to Ulrich's efforts, BEATALLICA
will soon be back online, and the legal debacle over. Sony is now indicating
that it may agree to just drop the case, if they even had a proper case
in the first place. [see full story for more]- Click

Jakson
Spires RIP |
BW&BK reports: Blackfoot drummer Jakson
Spires passed away this morning from a brain aneurysm in Ft Pierce FL.
Many fans of southern rock or just straight-ahead
rock & roll considered Blackfoot a secondary (Lynyrd) Skynyrd... all
while the band insisted that Train, Train was just plain get-down rock
& roll.
Jakson was the writer behind so much of
Blackfoot's music... with Rickey Medlocke, Greg T. Walker and Charlie Hargrett
they pushed the band to platinum status with the Strikes album in 1979.
The 1980 Tomcattin and 1981 Marauder releases
proved that the sum of all members was greater than the total of any one...
the band was a notorious powerhouse and toured relentlessly with the likes
of IRON MAIDEN, SCORPIONS and AC/DC. [see full story for more]-
