Responds to Durst |
Popdoh.com reports: My hosting company has
been named along with popdoh.com in the lawsuit Fred Durst is filing regarding
the sex tape that surfaced on the internet.
His lawyers did not properly file their
complaint, or provide my hosting company with information that would serve
as grounds for them to take action against me if I should not comply with
their request. They seem to exhibit a clear misunderstanding of how the
Internet works.
Though at this time my hosting company
do not know whether the presence of simply these links break any laws (their
strong assumption is that they do not) they told me it may not be worth
the trouble and risk of legal litigation to keep them operational[see full

FMQB reports: Activist Reverend Al Sharpton
wants to institute a 90-day ban on radio and TV airplay for any performer
who uses violence to settle scores or hype music sales, reports the New
York Daily News. And Sharpton plans to seek the help of the FCC.
"There has to be a way to step in and regulate
what's going on with the airwaves and with violence," Sharpton told the

Vs Times |
Blabbermouth reports: Merck Mercuriadis, worldwide
CEO for the Sanctuary Group and manager of GUNS N' ROSES, has responded
to The New York Times article entitled "Success, excess and a music industry
phantom" about GUNS N' ROSES' long-awaited "Chinese Democracy" album, which
was dubbed by the paper "probably the most expensive recording never released."
Mercuriadis' letter to The New York Times reads as follows:
"Sir, I find it remarkable that the New
York Times a newspaper of some repute has chosen to run an article
on the making of the forthcoming GUNS N' ROSES album, 'Chinese Democracy',
without even bothering to talk to anyone who has actually been involved
in the making of the album. You quote five people on the record, all of
whom, with the exception of Tom Zutaut, have been out of the picture for
between six and nine years, and like the author of your article, have never
even heard the album! Tom Zutaut himself has not been involved for three
years and has heard virtually none of the actual record.
"Your journalist Jeff Leeds is this the
return of Jayson Blair under a pseudonym? contacted us last Thursday
the 24th of February to inform us he had been working on an article about
the 'process' of making the album. I explained that it was not possible
for him to write such a story as he had not spoken to the band, our two
engineers, myself or most importantly, Axl, all of whom have been working
on the actual album for the last two years and enquired how he could write
an investigative report with any integrity without doing so. I also asked
why if he was reporting on the 'process' why we were the last people he
was contacting, as it was obvious from the discussion that he had been
working on this for a number of weeks. [see full story for more]-

Blabbermouth reports: Guitarist Koichi Fukuda
has officially rejoined STATIC-X. In a statement posted on the group's

us back in the club days here in Los Angeles, played on our first record,
'Wisconsin Death Trip', and did the first two years of touring with the
band. He's been in the studio with us since October working on the new
record and this feels like a very natural transition.
"The first shows with Koichi will be at

Day Jesus Promo |
Punksbands reports: Though not generally associated
with lending its songs to sponsorships, Green Day and its label, Reprise,
have entered into a partnership with the Independent Film Channel (IFC).
The pact will weave the nine-minute-plus "Jesus of Suburbia," the centerpiece
of the punk trio's latest album, "American Idiot," into the fabric of the
network's on- and off-air promotions and programming.
'Jesus of Suburbia' is the ultimate articulation
of our national zeitgeist -- it speaks perfectly to the anxiety, emotions
and passions of our audience," said Evan Shapiro, general manager and executive

be escalating between The Game and his former mentor, 50 Cent. The Game
resorted to name-calling during a performance at The Vault 350 nightclub
in Long Beach, California, on Friday (March 4). He allegedly called 50
Cent a "coward" and said that he wasn't scared to get shot. The rapper
also stated that contrary to 50 Cent's comments, he was not kicked out

Reunion? |
ArrowFM reports: While the members of the
Cars haven't gotten together since the late 80's, some figured the next
time would be when, or if, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall
of Fame. Well, at last month's "Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp" here in Los
Angeles, the Cars lead guitarist Elliot Easton was overheard saying "We're
in the process of trying to put the Cars back together, actually. I don't
want to say too much about that, but that's what's next, on-deck, for me.

dated from 2001, when the landlord presented a $300,000 bill for unpaid
rent.
Though most of that has now been repaid,
the club was handed another bill earlier this year for $76,000 which CBGB
has not paid. The club's lease comes to an end in August and talks on renewal
