Altaria
Fire Jani |
BW&BK reports: Finland's ALTARIA has updated
their website (www.altariamusic.com) with the following band lineup news:
"Guitarist Jani Liimatainen is no longer a part of Altaria. During the
preproduction sessions of the upcoming album it became obvious to everybody
including himself that things had developed to the point where it was impossible
for him to combine Altaria's increasing demand for attention with the busy
schedule of SONATA ARCTICA.
The difficult decision was made as friends
when everybody involved realized there was no other possibility. This will
not affect the work of the forthcoming Altaria album. Discussions with
potential replacements have already started and the new guitarist will
be announced shortly! [see full story for more]- Click

Broken
Head |
Punkbands reports: Sam writes: Recently On
Broken Wings played a show in Lousiville Kentucky. Apperently the venue
was getting destroyed and the club was getting fed up. During On Broken
Wings set Jonathan made some typical comments like "f*** this place up"
thing that mean dance hard, have fun, to us. Jonathan also throw a mic
stand wich was not intended to hurt anyone however it did hurt someone.
I don't know who it hit but apperently
he is an awesome dude and isn't pressing charges and is even trying to
back jonn up. So Jonn spent a couple days in Louisville jail, he recently
got out on bail with a court date set for July 8th. Again if you know Jonn
then you know that he has nothing but friends. No money, no home. Just
us. Jonathan can not afford a decent lawyer to represent him in court.
He is being charged with wanon endangerment of the first degree wich is
a felony, and if convicted he will go to a federal prison.[see full story

Radio
Sucks |
FMQB reports: A new study from Bridge Ratings
& Research further supports theories that radio is losing the American
youth demographic to the Internet. Their new survey finds that 22 percent
of 15-24 year-olds say they listen to the radio less as a result of spending
time online, though just over two-thirds of respondents said they listen
the same amount of time.
It isn't just radio that is losing audience
to the Internet, as a third of those surveyed also said they read less
books and magazines, instead preferring to read online. Radio came in third
when respondents listed which media they spent their time with, trailing
the Internet and television. [see full story for more]-

Five Special: Domeshots' frontman Danner |
Because antiMusic features more than our
fair share of indie music, we're also including notable anti worthy indie
bands in this special. Today's list comes from Domeshots's frontman Danner.
Danner's Top Five Albums of All Time!
5. Soundgarden - "Superunknown"
(samples
/ buy cd)
4. Faith No More - "Angel Dust"
(samples
/ buy cd)
3. Sepultura - "Roots"
(samples
/ buy cd)
2. Pantera - "Far Beyond Driven"
(samples
/ buy cd)
1. Guns and Roses - "Appetite
for Destruction"
(samples
/ buy cd)
About Domeshots: Domeshots just
got off the road and are hard at work prepping new music for their sophomore
album and playing assorted shows. Don't fear the band doesn't stay off
the road long, as plans for a national tour are in the works. In her review
of Domeshots' 2004 self-titled debut antiMusic's Joannie Foney wrote, "
The busiest band in showbiz award belongs to hardcore industrialists Domeshots,
with a whopping 180 shows since January (2004). But rather than sounding
like something slapped together by a group too road weary to care about
the important task of bottling their essence, this is a CD crafted with
care and even attention to detail. There is an energy displayed on every
track that's palpable, and the walls of many musical genres are masterfully
scaled." Check out the links to hear for yourself.
