Revolver Nix tour |
AP reports: Rock supergroup Velvet Revolver
abruptly cut short its overseas tour Tuesday, leaving many wondering if
the band's future was in jeopardy.
A newspaper and television station in Finland
reported that the band had split, but Velvet Revolver spokeswoman Kristine
Ashton-Magnuson disputed those reports.
"The band has not broken up," she said.
"In fact, theyre coming back to the U.S. early to start the next record."

Rockdirt reports: The Daily Star reports that
during his recent visit to Russia, Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos
was held by intelligence forces under suspicion of being an international
spy. Kapranos was travelling under his mother's maiden name Huntley, giving
him the same moniker as the former MI6 agent. "Alex protested his innocence,
but the officials, initially, would not believe his story," a source said.

Rockdirt reports: Island Def Jam chief L.A.
Reid celebrated his 48th birthday with several of his music acts, but Jon
Bon Jovi wasn't one of them. "L.A. wasn't satisfied with Bon Jovi's new
album," a source told The New York Daily. "He didn't believe it had a radio
hit. So - just like they did with Mariah - he sent Jon back into the studio."
But Reid denied the feud and blamed Bon Jovi's no-show on the weather.[see

Yahoo reports: AC/DC's 1980 breakthrough "Back
in Black" has been certified for U.S. shipments of 21 million copies, tying
it for fifth place with Billy Joel's "Greatest Hits Vol. 1 & II" on
the Recording Industry Assn. of America's all-time best-sellers list.
The Australian hard rock group's first
album with lead singer Brian Johnson, who replaced Bon Scott following
his alcohol-related death, "Back in Black" was originally released by Atco
and was reissued in 2003 by Epic along with the rest of the band's catalog.

Lit reports: A. Jay & Jeremy Popoff of
the Orange County rock band Lit received terrible news this past weekend.
Their mother, Sheri Suglia, and their step-father Kerry Suglia, were travelling
on the Ortega Highway following an afternoon visit with A. Jay, Jeremy
and their children when their motorcycle was struck by a drunk driver in
an SUV. Kerry Suglia was killed on impact and Sheri is in extremely critical
condition with massive multiple injuries. A memorial fund has been established:

Heartbreakers will headline a concert at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre
in Irvine, CA on Sunday August 14 as part of the band's first major North
American tour in nearly three years. The Irvine date marks the first Los
Angeles-area concert that the band has played since November, 2002. Joining
Petty & the Heartbreakers as Special Guest will be the legendary Jackson
Browne. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, June 11 at 10:00AM, and can be

liveDaily reports: British rockers Def Leppard,
who recently launched a co-headlining run with Bryan Adams, have lined
up lots of new headlining dates for themselves, including a late-summer
swing through Canada.
The group, which wraps up its first batch
of shows with Adams in Texas on Saturday (6/11), will then tackle a dozen
additional June dates, most of which will feature fellow rock quintet Tesla.
A handful of July headlining stops--for which a support act has not yet
been named--will follow, as will a 12-date run through Canada with Canadian

that VH1 has acquired rights to the six episodes of NBC's upcoming reality
series "Tommy Lee Goes to College"; a spokesman for the network said the
