Ozzy
Vs Press |
Blabbermouth reports: The Boston Globe is
reporting that the wife of BLACK SABBATH frontman Ozzy Osbourne has Boston
Herald editorial director Ken Chandler in her crosshairs after the newspaper
once again ignored her ban on photos of the singer performing at Ozzfest.
(Viewers of MTV's "The Osbournes" know Ozzy suffers from debilitating and
potentially embarrassing body tremors.) After the Herald published a picture
last year, Sharon was furious and called Chandler to complain. (He reportedly
hung up on her.) Ozzfest publicist Shazila Mohammed said the Herald wasn't
given photo access this year but still sneaked a shot of Ozzy into its
Saturday paper. Chandler is on vacation, but managing editor Kevin Convey
said yesterday, "No one is going to tell us what pictures we're going to
put in the paper."[If it was People magazine it might have been different.

Coalition |
FMQB reports: A new coalition has been formed,
dubbed Pause, Parent, Play, designed to educate parents about taking control
of what their kids listen to and watch in the world of entertainment. The
coalition is backed by Senators Rick Santorum (R-PA) and Joe Lieberman
(D-CT) and encompasses many entertainment companies, including Viacom,
the RIAA, Time Warner, NBC Universal, Comcast, Microsoft and the National
Cable And Telecommunications Association, among other partners. The campaign
aims to "empower parents to choose what their kids watch, hear and play
- from TV and movies to video games and music," according to the Web site,
pauseparentplay.org. The coalition is encouraging parents to:
PAUSE - take a minute to think about the
media that is available and how their kids might react to it.
PARENT - decide what is appropriate for
their own kids, talk with them, and use the options at their disposal to
help them.
PLAY - enjoy the media with their kids.

Vs Head |

KORN singer Jonathan Davis addressed Head's remarks by stating, "I have
no idea what Head is talking about. We have ALWAYS wrote [sic] our own
