Plant Extends Tour

liveDaily reports: Legendary rocker Robert Plant has added several new North American dates to his current tour in support of "Mighty Rearranger," his first collection of all-new solo material in more than a decade.

After Plant's current U.S. run ends on July 24 in Los Angeles, he plans to play a few shows in Europe before arriving back in North America Aug. 10 for an appearance in Ottawa, Ontario. Blabbermouth/Billboard reports: PRIMUS' classic lineup of bassist/vocalist Les Claypool, guitarist Larry LaLonde and drummer Tim "Herb" Alexander will hit the studio later this year to record their first album together since 1995's "Tales From the Punchbowl". It will be PRIMUS' first new studio album since 1999's "Antipop". German epic metallers Blind Guardian have announced a replacement for drummer Thomen Stauch, who left the band in April after 20 years.

Aversion reports: The Clash's former guitarist Mick Jones went on the record in support of mp3 swapping.

Peart Projects

BW&BK reports: RUSH drummer Neil Peart reveals he is going to be releasing a second instructional video entitled Anatomy Of A Drum Solo, which will feature the legendary drummer's approach to soloing and the creation of them.

Peart also announces the upcoming release of his next book that has the working title Roadshow: Landscape With Drums, A Concert Tour By Motorcycle.

Audio Aggression reports: Chevelle have joined the fight to save legendary rock club CBGB! All proceeds from the their August 4th concert, "An Evening with Chevelle," will be donated to the "Project Save CBGB" campaign.

"For the past three decades, CBGB owner Hilly Kristal has provided a safe haven for rock & roll," says Chevelle vocalist/guitarist Pete Loeffler. "The list of artists that have performed at the club is endless, and many of them, including The Ramones, Quicksand and Living Colour, are responsible for launching a thousand careers. 3) St. Anger � Metallica
St Anger was supposed to be Metallica's comeback but it drove the wedge further between the band and some longtime fans. From the abandonment of guitar solos to the annoying drums throughout this album, this first single drew a lot of heat from fans who wondered "what in the hell happened to Metallica?"
