Fun
Link: Maiden History 101 |
Day in Rock reports: It's Friday, time to
screw off a bit. That's why we bring you the "Fun Link". This week's link
comes from one of our readers. Upon clicking the full story link you will
be able to enjoy an Open Letter to Principle Stevens Posted by the Harry
S. Truman High School's Stoner All-Star Team. It turns out that Mr. Bradley
is using revisionist history in his World History 101 class and gave a
student that pointing out a glaring omission in the curriculum an F. Here
is a taste of the open letter.
" the class text 'World History &
You!' is a complete joke. This so-called 'educational' textbook completely
ignores the crucial influence of Iron Maiden's mascot 'Eddie' in the events
that have shaped human history. From the dawn of man to a vaguely futuristic
time, Eddie has been there- usually opting to not take a direct role but
rather crouch nearby significant historical events with a ghoulish and/or
menacing stare. The omission of Eddie from the text amounts to dangerous
revisionist history on the part of the publishers, who I assume are probably
really big fags who listen to Warrant."
The student goes on to make a convincing
case about how Iron Maiden are far better history teachers than your average
high school history class. Click the full link to read it all and be sure
to check out the photo evidence at the end. [see full story for more]-
