Sum
41 Rap |
Chart Attack reports: With their new disc,
Sum 41 have made it clear that they're more mature and a little more metal.
Trading in their pop-punk roots for some crunchier riffs is one thing,
but for one performance The Sums are going gangsta and trying their hand
at rap.
The Ajax foursome have accepted an offer
to act as the back up band for Ludacris on Saturday Night Live, but while
that may sound pretty exciting, the gig forces the group to shuffle around
some shows on their upcoming tour. [see full story for more]-

in April alleging that the two stole the hook for Ludacris' "Stand Up"
from them.[see full story for more]- Click

Linkin
Park's Long View on Relief |
Rockdirt reports: Linkin Park lead singer
Chester Bennington stressed to Billboard that the goal of the Music for
Relief Fund extends far beyond the tsunami disaster. "Right now, the money
is for the immediate relief for this horrifying event," Bennington says.
"The next step is getting the army of people in this business mobilized.
This is not something Linkin Park put together, but something the music
industry put together that will build and have this nest egg of disaster
money rather than having to build a fund from scratch each time." [more]-

Tsunami Song |
Blabbermouth reports: GODHEAD frontman Jason
Miller has written a song about the tsunami tragedy and is currently assembling
a group of musicians to record the song, with all proceeds from the recording
to be donated to the relief funds.
Commented Miller: "In the days after the
tsunami hit the coasts of Southeast Asia, I like most people was glued
to the television watching the horror unfold. I felt completely powerless.
As the death toll continued to mount, and the threat of disease hovered,
humanity reached out. I gave the maximum amount that I could afford, but
I still felt like I had done nothing. Then, one morning, after a restless
night trying to figure out what I could do, I wrote the song 'Forever In
Our Hearts'. I am not a celebrity, but I do know quite a few, and I thought
if I could get enough people interested in this song, maybe together we
could raise more money and make more of a difference." [see full story

Two-Step New CD |

for more than 30 years, New York City-based folk-rock duo Aztec Two-Step

Horses reflects the musical growth of those years with touches of blues
and country added to their familiar acoustic sound. An early review of
the album in the Boston Globe touted: "Fans of the duo's harmony-driven
tunes and easygoing acoustic guitar riffs will recognize their James Taylor-meets-Simon
& Garfunkel sound. What's new is the mood. This album sits back on

pop culture and their own ride through it."[see full story for more]-
