Club Fire Kills 186
antiMUSIC reports: 186 people died in a Buenos Aires nightclub on Thursday after a flare ignited soundproofing on the ceiling during a rock concert in the crowded club. The exit doors were locked, trapping an estimated 4000 people inside the club as it was engulfed in smoke and flames. At least 714 people were injured.

The fire spread within minutes as people rushed to try and escape, according to survivors and eyewitnesses. Investigators found that four of the six exit doors were locked shut with wire or padlocks. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Rocker Vs Ashlee
Rockdirt reports: Motley Crue singer Vince Neil took part in an interview with WRIF in Detroit and was asked to comment on the Ashlee Simpson 'Saturday Night Live' lip-synching fiasco. "I'm glad [she was exposed on national TV], too, because there's a lot of people... the majority of the new people that are out there now, these teenagers basically do movies and then figure they can just go out and put out a record," Neil said. "The way the technology is today, you can just go in there and sing, and a guy can actually adjust every syllable and every word that you just sang and make it sound amazing. And then these people go on stage, and they have no talent, so they lip-synch. And it's cheating everybody. I'm glad she got caught. And I've seen her sing since then, and she sucks."- Click Here for the Full Story

Opeth Discuss Next CD
BW&BK reports: OPETH singer/guitarist Mikael Åkerfeldt spoke to Australia's HailMetal.com recently.

HailMetal: I`ve heard you`ve been having a few ideas for the next album. An epic, occultist, darker concept album was on your mind last I heard. There was also some mention of Celtic Frost influence, as well as Gregorian Chanting. Have any of these ideas solidified in your song writing yet? How much has been written so far, and in what direction?

Mikael: "Haha, yes, that was said after I`ve written this certain part that sounded a bit like CELTIC FROST, after it came a mellow part with Gregorian chant style vocals. I`ll say these things for the people to have something to talk about. People probably think that that`s what the next album will be like as a whole. Obviously that`s not true, and I don`t really know myself yet. I`m working on maybe four different songs right now and all I know is that it`s gonna be great!"[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

P2P Battle Pops
tinfoil reports: Overpeer, the firm that floods P2P networks with bogus files, is corrupting files even more by placing popups and (potentially) adware in some WMA and WMV files.

The company gained it's notoriety in 2002 by working with record companies to flood P2P networks with bogus files that matched commonly searched songs. These bogus files made it difficult to find true song copies and made life difficult for many using the more popular networks targetted by the company.

Overpeer plans on selling advertisements based on key word searches. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Motley Greed
Blabbermouth reports: The four members of MÖTLEY CRÜE were recently interviewed by Metal Edge magazine for a cover story about their upcoming reunion tour.

Evanescence Get Creepy
Blabbermouth reports: EVANESCENCE frontwoman Amy Lee recently spoke to Metal Edge magazine about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the group's follow-up to their multi-platinum major-label debut, "Fallen".

Metal Edge: How has the music changed? What's the new direction?

Amy Lee: "It's really hard for me to explain! It's not like anything I've ever heard, to be honest It sounds like EVANESCENCE, but it's creepy, it's kind of sexy, it's groovy, it's not so . . . It's sort of PORTISHEAD, A PERFECT CIRCLE, bands that take more artistic freedom PORTISHEAD because they have more groovy, weird, sultry vibe, very similar to that. We're literally at the very beginning of this project, though, and it can all change . . . It can be a completely different record."

Metal Edge: So, for all we know, it could come out like a Gwen Stefani record.

Amy Lee: "I will never It's not going to be an '80s record! [Laughing] I know the goal is the heavy stuff will be heavier, and the soft stuff will be softer, we just took extremes and pulled them apart." [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
