Hunter S. Thompson RIP
ABC News reports: Hunter S. Thompson, the acerbic counterculture writer who popularized a new form of fictional journalism in books like "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas," fatally shot himself Sunday night at his Aspen-area home, his son said. He was 67.

"Hunter prized his privacy and we ask that his friends and admirers respect that privacy as well as that of his family," Juan Thompson said in a statement released to the Aspen Daily News. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Blink-182 Break Up
Digital Noise reports: Recent rumors circulating suggest that Blink-182 has decided to disband.

The rumors were sparked when the band cancelled their appearance at the "Music For Relief" Tsunami benefit concert at the eleventh hour.

The rumor about them disbanding appears to have been confirmed by guitarist Dave Navarro who wrote in an online posting on his own site, http://6767.com:

"As I mentioned, Ozzy pulled out due to a family situation, but the big shock came when Blink-182 pulled out. Evidently, they broke up yesterday. I am surprised they couldn't hang in there one more day in order to do Southeast Asia a service like this, but having said that, I know how it can get when it's just not working anymore. Gee, I wonder if Travis's reality show has anything to do with it? Hmmmm. Anyway, best of luck to those guys." [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

FBI Vs Danzig
Rockdirt reports: In an interview with KNAC.com, Danzig mainman Glenn Danzig alleged that then President Bill Clinton sent the FBI after him. "I guess they thought I was a threat to Bill Clinton or something," Danzig explained. "It's like, 'Go fu** yourself come and get me. Talk to my lawyer. Let's go to court on this.'" Asked what he'd have to turn himself in for, Danzig responded, "Whatever, I don't even know. Supposedly there are supposed to be like five files on me, and two of them can only be accessed by upper echelon government officials." [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Lars Supports Beatallica
Blabbermouth reports: BEATALLICA, the Internet sensation who combine the work of THE BEATLES with the sound of early METALLICA, have issued the following update regarding the recent "cease and desist" order that was sent to their Internet Service Provider courtesy of Sony/ATV Music Publishing. "If you are seeing this news update, you are now aware of the cease and desist letter sent to our ISP [Internet Service Provider] by Sony. And that is just it. The cease and desist was sent to our ISP and not BEATALLICA or BEATALLICA, L.L.C. All we can say right now, is that we are looking into the matter and we will keep you all posted. Is there a chance our ISP could pull the site? Sure there is. Does Sony want the News, Music, Lyrics, and Merch sections removed? Yes, they do. This does not affect BEATALLICA's ability to perform live shows. More on that in just a bit. "Let it be known that BEATALLICA, at this moment, is NOT getting sued by anyone in METALLICA or by any living Beatle. [BEATALLICA frontman] Jaymz actually had a conversation with Lars Ulrich since the cease and desist was sent and we're happy to say that the METALLICA camp is fully behind us and the integrity of BEATALLICA.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Six Feet Under in March
Metal Blade reports: SFU's latest effort 13 will see the light of day on March 21st. 13 is another piece of brutal Death Metal. People might be surprised as there have been slight changes again which make this album sound more old school than the latest outputs from our Florida Deathsters! "It seems like it's more on the up-tempo side", singer Chris Barnes describes the frenzied affair. "I think it's a direct echo of where we were when we wrote it. We had just got off the road, three or four days before we went into the studio. We had no material written. I had an idea of approaching this album in a different way, writing and recording. We just went into the studio and wrote this thing. The aggressiveness and the tempo reflected our mindsets. We really tapped into our feelings and it set our pace.
