MuchMusic reports: When US Weekly printed Britney's honeymoon pics this week without authorization, Britney Spears lashed out. "Other magazines, including the Star, contacted us when presented with these photographs and refused to publish them," Britney said in a statement. G-Unit Gang Shootings
Sohh reports: Homicides detectives are investigating a series of recent shootings that they suspect were committed by a new Tulsa, Oklahoma street gang dubbed The G-Unit. 

According to News On 6 crime reporter Lori Fullbright, The G-Unit is named after 50 Cent's Rap crew and record label of the same name. Tulsa police says the local G-Unit is modeling themselves after the Queens rapper's gangsta image and is leading to waves of violence. Satanism 101
Blabbermouth reports: Worried about ritual killings in Italy by sect members that belonged to a heavy metal band called BEASTS OF SATAN, a Vatican-recognized university has launched a course to help priests and seminarians understand what makes people turn to the occult, according to the Associated Press. The class is billed as the first of its kind, with wide-ranging instruction by exorcists, psychologists and a police criminologist. One of the victims of the ritual killings was a 19-year-old stabbed to death in 1998. She may have been targeted because her killers believed she was a personification of the Virgin Mary, prosecutors allege. Another victim was shot last year and buried alive. Blabbermouth reports: Sanctuary Records has set a May 3 North American release date for the new solo album from former LED ZEPPELIN frontman Robert Plant. BOD CD
Blabbermouth reports: According to TotalRock.com, BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION have set "13 Acres" as the title of their sophomore album, tentatively due in June via Sanctuary Records. The follow-up to last year's "Here Come the Brides" is being recorded at a ranch in Malibu with producer Andy Johns, who has previously worked with BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION guitarist Tracii Guns on the L.A. GUNS "Waking the Dead" album (which Guns has referred to as "my favorite L.A. GUNS record."). 

BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION will have a camera crew filming them for the next two months of writing and recording, although it's presently unclear if the resultant footage will be released in conjunction with the upcoming album.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

George Michael Retiring
BBC reports: Singer George Michael has said that a new film about his life is the start of a retirement from public view. The pop star said it would be a much more "behind the scenes affair", and called his own genre of music "dead".

Usher Movie
Reuters reports: Usher's mini-movie, "Rhythm City Volume 1: Caught Up," will screen at 44 Regal Entertainment Group theaters Monday (Feb. 21).

Spector Trial Set
E! Online reports: Wall of Sound man Phil Spector is finally going to face the music.

Ray Support Victory
AP reports: A judge ruled that the mother of Ray Charles' teenage son will continue to receive $3,000 a month in child support, not the $15,000 she wanted, an attorney said.

AP reports: In a Feb. 15 story about Janis Joplin, The Associated Press erroneously reported that her estate had announced plans for a film about Joplin's life starring pop singer Pink and directed by Penelope Spheeris. Ex-KISS Tour
BW&BK reports: KISS drummer Eric Singer and former KISS lead guitarist Bruce Kulick, along with former MOTLEY CRUE singer John Corabi and ALICE COOPER bassist Chuck Garrick, will be touring Europe as ESP (Eric Singer Project) in April and May. While Singer is on a tour break with KISS, and Kulick is in between tours with his current band GRAND FUNK RAILROAD, the two wanted to join forces for a tour of Europe after a handful of shows together as UNION (also with John Corabi in the band, but with Jamie Hunting on bass) last month. Testament Reunion
BW&BK reports: According to a new press release, TESTAMENT lead vocalist, Chuck Billy, and founding guitarist, Eric Peterson have announced that original guitar player Alex Skolnick, and original bassist Greg Christian, and previous Testament drummer alumnist Johnny Tempesta, are joining them for a Reunion Tour in Europe, May 7 to May 15 ONLY. The tour will last for 9 shows only. "Comrades, The Argentine and Colombian governments have made it impossible for us to come to play for you. Because of the nightclub fire in Buenos Aires, the gov't has put a moratorium on shows. The Colombian gov't would not issue visas. We are bummed that we can't bring the metal for all you maniacs to enjoy. The Bogota show is being moved to Lima Peru. Punkbands.com reports: Singer/guitarist Kris Roe of the Ataris has posted an update on the band's website in regards to the band's forthcoming followup to 2003's So Long, Astoria. The band will begin a 2-month recording session next week with producer Nick Launay (Silverchair, Nick Cave, P.I.L.) for fifteen songs for Welcome The Night. Animosity Deal

Morrissey Live CD and DVD 
antiMusic reports: Morrissey is releasing a live DVD and CD

 The DVD, Who Put the "M" in Manchester? (Attack/Sanctuary Visual Entertainment), was filmed May 22, 2004 shortly after the release of You Are the Quarry at his now legendary homecoming/birthday show in Manchester, England. The DVD showcases not only the album, but includes both Morrissey and Smiths classics. The concert was filmed by Bucky Fukumoto from A/V Club, who also directed Morrissey's three music videos for this album, all of which are included as DVD extras. 

The CD, Live at Earls Court, captures the end of the tour and was recorded over the final 5 sold out dates in London, Glasgow, Birmingham, Brighton and Dublin this past December. The CD will have a different track listing from the DVD and will also include additional never before performed b-sides as well as rarely performed Morrissey and Smiths classics.
